Chit Chat / Re: sunshine balls
« on: October 22, 2012, 09:48:37 am »
Thanks Judy Dawn. I added some more oats and some chia seeds, helped a bit. Would definatly suggest reducing the water in the recipe. The kids love them so I am sure I will be making them again  :)

Chit Chat / sunshine balls
« on: October 22, 2012, 09:17:01 am »
Hi
I was wondering if anyone has made the sunshine balls from the Lunch box and after school book. I have just made the mix and it is way too wet I can't roll it into balls. I have tried grinding some almonds, linseeds and extra oats and adding it to the mix but it didn't help much. Can anyone help with some suggestions please. Thanks

« on: January 08, 2012, 09:54:35 am »
Hi
I was wanting to make the peanut butter from the EDC but I don't have any sunflower oil, has anyone tried to make it with a different oil? I have olive oil or grapeseed, wasn't sure that olive oil would work as it has such a strong flavour but maybe grapeseed? Any suggetions  ??? Thanks

Recipe Book Recipe Reviews / Re: Review: Little Steamed Christmas Puds
« on: December 21, 2011, 08:05:17 am »
Hi There

I made these puddings a couple of days ago & mine were the same, they seemed a bit soggy, so the next day I put them in a hot oven for about 10 - 15 mins to try to firm them up a bit and now they are perfect. They deffinatly need to be cool before you take them out of the moulds, the flavour is really good :)

Bread / Re: fruit loaf/buns (no egg) - who has a recipe
« on: August 18, 2011, 06:00:46 am »
Hi
I make fruit bread by using the basic bread recipe in the EDC and adding 1/2 cup of sultanas ( you could add more if you wanted too)  and 1tsp mixed spice through the top in the last 30 sec of kneading. I bake it as a loaf but you could also make rolls, my kids love it  :)

Thanks JD, I have spoken to my consultant & she is going to look into it for me. I think I might try a bit of oil like suggested & see if that works.

Suggestions and Complaints / My thermomix is squeaking
« on: August 08, 2011, 04:09:26 am »
Hi
I have had my thermomix for a month & yesterday  I noticed that when I use speed 1 or 2 it starts making a sqeaking sound, there was only water in the bowl as I was using the varoma I pulled the bowl apart & gave it a good clean but later that night when I was again using the varoma for dinner it started again. I tried it this morning with nothing in the bowl & on speed 1 & 2 it makes this sound when I turn it to 3 it stops. I was wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem? I am going to contact my consultant today, but the thought of having to be without my thermie is just too much  :(

Tips and Tricks / Re: How do I remove smell from lid seal?
« on: August 03, 2011, 08:52:41 am »
Hi
I have had the same problem, I let my consultant know & I got a second seal wich I use for non smelly stuff.
I know this sounds really strange but putting the smelly seal out in the sun removes the odor I have done this with mine & it works, not that we are getting much sun at the moment.
