Useful Ingredient Conversion Calculator
« on: March 06, 2010, 12:58:03 am »
One of the biggest difficulties in converting recipes for the Thermomix is converting volume measures of ingredients to weight measures.

This website (http://www.traditionaloven.com/conversions_of_measures/butter_converter.html) has calculators for converting quantities of butter, sugar, flour, oats, honey and rice from pretty much any measure into weight.

Thanks Dean, very useful.  It prompted me to look for something to help convert from Australian cups so, for non-Aussies like me, you might like to try

Hi all.  Next year's Australian Thermomix calendar has a table of approximate weight conversions - very handy.

For a quarter of a cup,
Sugar               50g
Rice/grains        55g
Flour                40g
Milk                  55g
Oil                    50g
Beans/Legumes  40g

Full cup equivalents are in the calendar as well.

Thanks for sharing all of those, useful to have (and briefly scared that AUS cup sizes where different, not just Tbsp)

Oh that is great info.  I manage to Google a few of my conversions but will keep them all in one place now.  Many thanks.
