Blending soup??
« on: December 09, 2011, 03:31:05 pm »
It is getting cold in England at the moment so I will be making lots of hot soup.  I have a question though.  To make soup silky smooth I suppose you need to blend at speed 9 or 10, but the thought terrifies me :'(  I presume the MC has to be held down to stop if from flying off and I have wrapped my hand in tea-towels but the steam still burns me.  Any ideas please?

Thank you

Go slowly from  ^^ to speed 9. I just fold a tea towel into 4 and sit it on top. You actually don't need to hold it down if you go slowly and the steam will come out of the gap inbetween the mc and lid hole

Thanks Meagan.  How silly of me, I had been switching it straight to speed 9.  Just tried again using your method and it works  ;D

As Meagan says everything is fine if you go up through the speeds slowly.
