Bread / Re: Thin and crispy pizza dough
« on: July 24, 2012, 04:56:30 am »
I found if I brushed my pizza paddle with polenta before adding the base and then toppings, it would slide off into my pizza maker. Then cook great and quickly, and then was easy to remove. The polenta also helps to give a crisp base, and is tasty to boot.

Since having my pizza maker, I wouldn't bother with pizza in the oven again. Because the stone gets up to 300 deg, and has a top element, the (fresh) dough cooks in under 5 mins, which is time enough to cook the top without burning it. Then I add any green like rocket or basil or baby spinach after I take it out. The stone is also suppose to be a bit like a wok, it gets seasoned e more that's cooked on it, so no need to try and clean or wash... Just scrape and use again. Also perfect to re heat pizza. Comes out almost like a freshly made one! I used it the other day to heat garlic brad from the freezer. Soooo much quicker than my smug oven. The oven takes forever to heat up to a high temp etc. couldn't be happier!

Recipe Book Recipe Reviews / Re: Sweet and Sour Meatballs - EDC
« on: July 07, 2012, 11:00:54 am »
Ok. Tried this in the TC tonight. Sauce was really quite strong I found although tasty. Just seemed a bit concentrated. I only had a 420gm of pineapple but it was mooooore than enough so am wondering how much everyone used? I added an extra cup of water for the pineapple juice I would have been lacking.

I was initially worried about the meatballs piling up, but they seemed to cook fine. My meatball paste was also sludgy but I plopped big teaspoons full in a bowl of breadcrumbs and that seemed to dry the outside and hold them together. They. Certainly couldn't be rolled by hand without something dry added.

Will try again a little more diluted, and perhaps with some spring onion in the meatballs. Maybe even chicken. Loved doing all at once though and I had my rice cooker on at the same time. ;)

Breakfast / Re: Re: Porridge
« on: July 07, 2012, 12:58:53 am »
Have been cooking it in the microwave but also looking for a good recipe for the TC. My hubby doesn't cook his long enough and I tried to show him this morning (making a small batch) how the oats change when they are actually 'cooked'! Would love to try some of these. I believe porridge can catch a bit especially cooked with milk, even in the tmx or am I wrong? Doesn't matter if it does a bit, guess its just a bit trickier to clean.

Will have a play this above proportions. The solid and cuts with a spoon description is like the way I've always liked it not runny. (unless you mix some cold Milk in afterwards. )
;)

Always nice to see a recipe bumped that's a great one and a different one to try. Sounds like a great idea instead of an apricot (as far as chicken and fruit).

Can't wait to try. Added to my to try list.

So good this is so tasty. I added half a cauli, cooked in the rice basket and puréed with a bit of butter and Parmesan. Soooo creamy and yummy. Have rice done now and made croutons from the last pieces of yesterday's bread. Made the lemon muffins/cupcakes today and am just thinking maybe I'll whip up a lemon custard (can't believe I h net made a
Lemon one yet) to go with the cakes for dessert. Mmmmmm.

Great job CP. yeah I know exactly what you mean about gag. If my front loader is having trouble spinning out the water usually there's a coin or stuff stuck in the lint filter. And man, whenever I have cleaned it, it stinks!

Good idea about the vinegar and a wash, might do just that!!!

Yeah when I did the windows it def needs the squeegee to be clear. So I think maybe the oil is doing the streamlines. Maybe I'll make another batc or half batch with none and add together. After all I'm happy with no scent or a mild one.

Now that you mention it where I cleaned the grout the are sort of footprints visible on the tiles. Which I think is due I a film.... Might have to play around. I might refer to the link too!
