Can anyone help me with where I went wrong on this recipe.

When I got to the end of the cooking time, the choc mix was in big clumps and the butter was separated.  It was almost like the chocolate didn't melt properly.

I made this a couple of weeks ago, after having printed out the recipe months and months ago.  Why did I wait so long to make it?  It is absolutely delicious.  I used a half batch for guests the night I made it and they loved it.  I used the other half the next day at a family get together and they also loved it.

Thanks for such a tasty recipe.  I love it.

I finally made this tonight and it is very yummy.

I have been meaning to make it for ages, but suggested it to my husband as a fathers day meal tonight.  He commented that the prawns were cooked perfectly.

I used frozen uncooked prawns, but I defrosted them first.

I can highly recommend this recipe.

I tried this recipe yesterday, and it is great!  I didn't put any toasted coconut on top, but it had just the perfect amount of coconut in it.  With taking the MC out, I just held it at an angle so if anything came out it went away from me.  That seemed to be enough to let the steam out and I just kept it on speed 9 for around 20 secs, didn't count the time to get it up there.

I have a curry recipe that I love making and I always end up with leftover coconut cream - now I have found a great use for it.

Thanks for a wonderful recipe book.

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / Re: Mousse problem
« on: January 06, 2012, 12:35:38 pm »
Thanks judydawn - I did see your collation of reviews (which by the way is excellent) and read the comments before I made the MYOC mousse since I was nervous about how my last one turned out.  Most people said it worked for them.  The only thing I saw in there was adding the cream of tartar which I had seen before but after I whipped the egg whites there seemed to be a lot of volume all holding together well (probably too well)

Thanks cookie1 I will give that recipe a go.

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / Mousse problem

I have had my second lot of thermomix chocolate mousse not set properly.

This time I used the recipe from My Way of Cooking.  The chocolate mix tasted really nice, and I cleaned and thoroughly dired the bowl before starting the eggs whites.  In the recipe you add a pinch of salt to the eggs whites while whipping with the butterfly for 5 mins on speed 3.

The egg whites were very well whipped, I actually suspect too whipped - is that possible?  When I tried to fold them into the chocolate mixture, there were little bit so of white flecks all through the mousse.  It took me ages to try and mix it in, which I know knocked all of the air out of the egg whites.

Does anyone have any idea what I did wrong?  It tasted OK, but was quite thick and not properly set.

Hi everyone

My name is Tamara and I have had my Thermomix for just over 2 months now.  I have been reading the recipes on the forum since I first ordered my Thermomix.  I am a married mum of 2 aged nearly 6 and 3, and I work part time.

Some of the things I have made include butter, jam, mayonnaise, mashed potato, beef strog, spag carbonara, custard, beetroot salad, playdough, chilli mussels, hummus, roast capsicum dip, pumpkin & cinnamon bread, steamed sausages, choc chip biscuits, gingerbread with honey.

I have been having a problem with getting drinks to the correct consistency and taste, but this weekend I finally made a recipe that I could get my family to drink - a a breakfast smoothie.

Thanks for such a great forum.

This is a great recipe.  I had my first failed mayo today using a different recipe and finally found this one that I have used a few times before.  Perfect, thanks for the recipe.
