Very simple and delicious , especially when made with fresh horseradish.
If using fresh horseradish place discs into TMX and grate, speed 7/20 seconds. DO NOT LIFT LID AND SNIFF AS YOU LOOK IN? THE FUMES ARE OVERPOWERING?
And then there is a Russian version called Хренодёр/Hrenoder, which is equal amount of Horseradish and garlic with double amount of Tomatoes, plus some salt and sugar. Perfect for Thermomix and yes, DO NOT LIFT LID AND SNIFF. I can confirm the warning first hand :-)

Are you thinking along the lines of a cooking demonstration going on all the time and then selling the products made?
The cooking demonstration would basically be a side-product of running a café the way I imagine it. A full disclosure of what is being prepared instead of the usual opaque "end-product" you get when you buy prepared food.

I have ideas stirring  in my head all the time. But this one is specifically about Thermomix-based business: http://blog.outerthoughts.com/2015/11/thermomix-cafe-a-business-idea/ So I am throwing it out here to see if people like the concept or see some obvious holes in it. Or even additional opportunities. This is not my next business  . On the other hand, if somebody (preferably in Sydney) falls in love with it, let me know. I can help to brainstorm it in more details.

I am moving to Australia and want to know whether my Canadian TM3.1 would work in Australia. I saw a thread in the opposite direction (Australian to USA), but don't understand enough about electricity to even know if it is applicable.
I know the plugs are different, but the important thing is voltage. Does anybody have an advice on this?
The other option is to sell it and to look into buying TM5 on arrival, but that's an expensive proposition even if I get a good price here.

They keep a list of consultants in HQ? If yes, that would definitely be an easiest option.
I am not in Oz yet, just wanted to research my options before I get there :-)

Not sure where/how to ask. I want to get a Thermomix demo in Sydney, Australia for a Russian-speaking audience. How would I find a consultant being able to do that?
Also, what's are the waiting periods these days for Sydney from order until delivery?

The butter needs to be melted though, right? So do that separately in a microwave and just pour everything in together? Two dishes.
I thought maybe do the crackers, take them out. Then, melt the butter in TM, mix it with the rest, then add crackers pieces back in and mix. Still two dishes, but no microwave.

The Kartoshka recipe was this one: http://www.mydeliciousmeals.com/recipe/kartoshka-chocolate-trufflesI actually used TM to process and weigh the ingredients one by one and ended up with too many dishes to wash up. I have a feeling, there might be a way to streamline/convert that recipe into TM-specific and use only TM-bowl+temporary bowl for crumbs. If somebody can rewrite that into a TM-specific form, I'll be very happy to beta-test that early next week.

Time for an update  I bought a TM3.1 (Canada...) and a pressure/slow-cooker combination. With TM, I made veggie stock, hummus, risotto, mayo, soup, smoothies, bliss balls, Kartoshka (Russian sweets) and, just recently, chocolate. Hummus was completely from scratch (dried chickpeas, unroasted sesame seeds, etc), so it really felt good. Bliss Balls, Kartoshka and chocolates actually made it into the office and were pronounced a success. Which is the first time I dared for anybody but myself to try my cooking. For next couple of dishes, I've been requested more Kartoshka :-) and then I want to make Baba Ganoush, bread and some sort of cookies. After that, I need to eat down my cupboard's current content of tins and jars and rebuild it around Thermomix-ready base ingredients. So, I guess, it is a success. :-)

I am beginning to think it is timeTM Australia opened several shops where Thermomixers and accessories can be bought without the crazy sales model and in home demos.
I think this occurs in Canada. But stand to be corrected.
In Quebec (Canada), the shops seem to be the primary way to sell it. And they have it in stock, so you just walk out with one. I think they offer home demos as well, but not sure if that's independent consultants or just somebody from the shop.

I will be interested to see how the Americans take to it when it is introduced once again in the US. No doubt that will coincide with the new model going into Canada. This forum will be overloaded with US members for sure. It is going to get interesting.
I just asked local Canadian official distributor about any news on TM5. Or any big discounts on the TM31. They replied, but with no news on either. Just that there are monthly special extras.

Just curious. Is it TMX Aus who followed the method of selling TM31 without letting customers know about the new model or has this happened in other countries also?
Well, it's even more fun in Canada. They announced the new model, but will not sell it to us for a while. I am waiting to hear if they are going to offer some special deals on the TM31 over the next month(s?). Otherwise, I suspect they will have no sales for that period at all. On the other hand, at least in Montreal, it seems that Thermomix is only sold through the shops and not through consultants. So, maybe they don't care that much if one particular product does not sell well for a while.

Apparently in Canada the new TM5 has been announced but is not available in North America until
2015. This then gives customer a chance to consider their options. Why isn't the same happening in Australia?
Well, I am one of those potential customers and I am quite annoyed. I like the new model, but waiting 3 months for it would be a real pain. I might as well then do something else entirely and see if 5.1 (with computer bug fixes) comes out another 6 months after that.

I am a computer geek :-) I like the latest and greatest gadgets, but waiting 3 more months for it was not in my plans. We'll see if they offer any real discounts on tm31. I am attending a cooking demo tomorrow and plan to ask some serious questions.

Unfortunately, we do not know when it will be available in North America. The current model, TM31, will continue to be our unique model. Now, I am definitely not sure what to do.
