I made a Classic loaf, a rye SD loaf and some No Fuss rolls for the burgers.

Yesterday I made an apricot thing. You make a lovely purée of dried apricots, a bit of sugar and water.

Just catching up. Have been to Melbourne for a few days with DD.
Marina, the piklets were made up on the spot. With a fork and bowl. Egg, milk, SR flour,  and sugar. Vanilla. Little man mixed all with great enthusiasm.
Cooking looks great. Mab, your rolls look good and Cookie, love the look of DH Birthday cake.
I’ve made RTE Balsamic Mushrooms. Lovely. I cooked them in AF.
Made a rye and carraway loaf. Hummus and Baba ganoush and marinated a chicken thigh in homemade plum vinegar and sate sauce , garlic and sesame oil.
Tomato soup in TMX. Added Cauli, celery carrot and red capsicum to a tin of crushed toms. Chicken stock cube.
Yogurt.
I haven’t been to the grocers for over 2 weeks. Trying to use what I’ve got.
Sounds like a lot of cooking, but I get inspired after being in Melbourne where you pay a lot for some pretty ordinary food.

Thanks for the pikelet recipe, Chookie.  It looks like you have been flat out in the kitchen - also gave me inspiration to make tomato soup, which I haven't made for donkeys years.
Marina from Melbourne and Guildford

Just delivered, new pie machine.  Breville.
2 cups of SD starter, 2 teaspoons sugar, 1 teaspoon of both salt and carb soda. Made 30 finger crumpets.

I’m trying to reduce the portion size of what I eat so thought this machine would be handy. It cooks the finger crumpets very well.
I also bought a waffle machine. I experimented with the SD mixture that I use for the crumpets. They turned out light and crispy.  Not what I wanted.  Will try again today. I’ll add an egg and see if this makes them a bit more solid. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Like the crumpet sticks . Flu cold drink . Chicken soup with all the goodies , garlic fresh ginger and turmeric , coriander and parsley. Dippy eggs x2, soft boiled , getting the hang of it now but each time cooks them a little differently.

Think I’ve got the Waffle recipe sorted. Need to test again. Basically added egg and potato flour to crumpet recipe. Friends are taste testing them for me.
