Five Seed Bread
replacing the Cape Seed Bread in the book.

This makes quite a large 'piece' of bread. I put it in a 20cm square tin but as it was rising I put it in a larger tin. Next time I will make it in a true bread tin. I didn't have any poppy seeds so used extra of the other seeds.
The mixture was quite sloppy, but the cooked bread texture is nice.

I don't like most grain/seed breads as I find the grains far too hard for my crappy teeth. The seeds in this are lovely and soft.  It has a good crust on the finished bread.

I didn't cook it quite as long as suggested but I usually find this happens with my oven.

All in all we enjoyed this bread and I will definitely make it again.

5/5

My menu plan from last Wednesdday to next Tuesday is:

Wednesday: Roast beef with roast vegies and spring vegetables in cheese sauce.
Thursday: Chicken curry with rice and naan bread. Fruit mince tarts and custard.
Friday: Chicken Parmesan with smashed spud and salad. Soft serve strawberry icecream .
Saturday: Maybe pizza or a new recipe I saw that is pasta with pesto and beetroot cubes and feta on top.
Sunday: Bacon, leek and tomato risotto.
Monday: Vegetable and bacon crustless quiche.
Tuesday: Salmon and broccoli pasta bake.

I've just made the Five Seed Bread that has replaced the Cape Seed Bread in the EDC. It made a really large loaf (drrr, I should have realised) and was a very sloppy mix. I've just taken it out of the oven so will have some for lunch to see what the taste is like.
Yesterday I made custard for some fruit mince tarts I had in the freezer, rice for our chicken curry and used the Varoma to steam lots of green vegies (snow peas, zucchini, broccoli, broccolini and peas) and then made a cheese sauce to pour over them.

Sure is, especially as I had to go and check my facts before I did it. But then it's just having the ability to do it now.

WOW

Everytime I do mince in the TMX it ends up very fine too. I've gone back to doing it on the stove.

We have a 1600W generator that we carry caravaning and I've just looked in the TMX book and it says the maximum power consumption is 1500W so I would imagine that we could use this. I can't really see it running off a car battery-the heating part of the TMX uses 1000W.  I'm not really that way inclined so perhaps a clever person could tell you. A girlfriend wants to use hers on her boat so I'm glad someone bought this up. Thanks Spanner.

I probably could find another demonstrator Meagan but I have this lovely forum and ILB is very kind in sharing things with me. :-* :-*

Congratulations Chelsea and Thermomixer, I'll have to get baking and vote. You're stars and may the best TMXer win.

That is fantastic Jenny H.  I've always loved cooking but now find on those days when you're out late you can have an acceptable meal on the table in no time, plus all the added benefits of being able to make things from the very basics.
Of course there is the added negative of the weight, perhaps I could do lift ups of my TMX to lose weight.

Reading Thermomixers comment earlier, I have just realised that I actually have the record of 'Hello Mudda, Hello Fadda" .

I must get DD to check her list of addictive drugs for the dreaded Thermomixacillin. We all seem to have it. Possibly the TMX only really performs its best when used by and addict. :P :P

I'm just reproducing what Faffa said. I make a sorbet with the fruit (I always use less sugar too) and instead of water iceblocks I put in milk iceblocks. No egg white either. It is really wonderful ,especially on these cold nights. Brrrr!  You do need to eat it all or if we do have left overs I put it into icy pole things and then into the freezer. Nice snack for the middle of the day.

Jams and Chutneys / Re: Anyone successfully made a nice jam?

I'm afraid all my jams have been tasty but runny. Will have to try some of these ideas. Strawberries are $1.78 at the local Coles so I may try some jam. Will be the same price as bought jam but will be home made.
