Cooked beef in stout for GS and friend.  They loved it. Bananas fritters to follow. GS is cooking for himself. I gave him a large pot that I haven’t used since shifting. He replaced a light fitting that wasn’t working.
I’m going to make Cornish Pasties today. I cook the filling in the Microwave prior to forming the pasties.

New biscuit recipe from new book. Preserved citrus peel and olive oil. I make my peel for the Hot X Buns. I wouldn’t use commercial peel in these so won’t post recipe. They are very nice but very high in sugar.
Also made some Rum and Raisin Banana cake in the new square hole  baking sheet. Just brushed the holes with cake release.  Perfect.

Chookie, that pair of long socks that are imitation sheep wool lined sound like just the thing I will be needing whilst I am recuperating.  Can you recall where you got them from?
Readings in Lygon Street, Marina. Also bought a cloth bag for storing bread.

Understand Marina. Thanks for sending the good weather.
The Royce Hotel was lovely. Fab service but the food for breakfast not fantastic. I admit I’m pretty critical. Had scrambled eggs with crab. Doesn’t work for me. Smoked salmon much better. They had home made crumpets on the menu so just had to try them. Absolutely awful. They were really just large piklets, $22 for 2.
Will stay there but not have breakfast there. .
We had dinner in the Deli at the Farmers Daughter restaurant. There were 4 of us. We had the set menu and it was just as delicious as last time. They were very busy and it’s not surprising. The service is very attentive but not intrusive. They are particular about any food sensitivity. The food is simple but fresh and beautifully cooked. For $85 dollars I think it is good value.

GD loves the 5. I think the original 31 has had a very full life. She joined Cookidoo and made Lentil Bol sauce and sent me a photo. DIL loves the 6. Will try the free Cookidoo for 6 months before she decides. We are all on different WiFi. She is quite excited as she has only had my hand me downs and this is new. She set it up herself, didn’t need the consultant.
K Atie, you could give your DD your 31 and buy an extra bowl.
Today I will make lemon cakes in my new square cake pan. I now prefer to make individual cakes rather than a big one. Good to freeze and just take out as many as necessary. Doesn’t look as dramatic but more practical for me.

Marina, enjoy your new computer.
Had a shopping day in Lygon Street and Melbourne.
Bought 2 cook books, ( more on these later ), a large block of Parmesan cheese and a packet of small Italian Biscuits. They are jam. filled. I’ll copy these. A pair of long socks that are imitation sheep wool lined. They are for the winter when you are reading.
In DJ ‘s , 2 tops, a Le Creuset baking sheet and a Le Creuset 12 hole square  cake pan. A dramatic table cloth with large bunches of grapes to cover the glass table. Some Makeup.

All the baking I did over Easter is coming in very handy. Visitors in and out and I just defrost and reheat.

Making the Apple cake that takes 4 different types of Apple. I like this recipe as it has just enough cake mixture to hold the Apple together. The little bit of Rum is nice also. Recipe on my Blog. https://achookwoman.blogspot.com/search?q=Apple+cake

I found 2 trays of Turkey mince in the freezer. I decided to make nuggets.  I looked up Farfallinas recipe on the Forum for Chicken Cordon Blue and added a bit of my KFC spice mix. I used a medium sized ice cream scoop to form patties and made an egg, milk and flour wash plus a good bit of KFC powder. Then Panko crumbs. Shallowed fried briefly. Will AF them when needed. Made 25. Dinner tonight and the rest frozen.
I always fry a little of the mix before proceeding to test the balance of flavours.
