K ATIE, sounds interesting.  I dry mandarin peEl and then grind it in the TMX.
I’m using up all the 1/2 jars of jam in the coconut slice.  Another one today.

K Atie and Chookie you have bought to mind a question ... is there any difference in taste between mandarin and orange zest?

An interesting question Marina.
I made a No Fuss loaf of bread this afternoon. We were out of bread and I thought this would be the quickest. I did the first rise in the microwave on the special dough rising temperature.

I didn’t cook anything today but DD2 came to stay here for the weekend and cooked a big pot of goulash soup and brought a whole cauli to make into cauli-au-gratin to keep my freezer well stocked.

Marina, I think there is a lot of difference.  Both have their uses but the Mandarin Is sharper .  I make a lovely Macadamia Almond and honey tart tat has Mandarine zest in it.  Makes all the difference.
Judy, that is lovely as well as practical.
Cookie, how did the microwave proving go?

My microwave has a dough proving setting on it Chookie and it is perfect for this colder weather.
Today I plan to cook my rye SD when it rises enough and I’m also trying a recipe from the Tivoli Road book. I’m not too sure about it as I’m doing it. We will see.

Didn’t like the Chicken, pineapple and tomato curry. Some leftover so will add some prawns and make into pies.
GD rang and asked if I would make her some LSA. Made 6 cups, should do for a while.
Need some biscuits for morning tea.  Found a bottle of Cardamon and Pistachio will add to Surprise biscuit mix with some dried sour cherries.  Using up what I have.  Trying not to order for 2 weeks.

The biscuits sound as though they will be delicious. I cooked my SD oatmeal loaf. It didn't rise a lot. I will taste it when it cools.the flavour isn’t too bad, although I think it could have risen more and maybe been cooked for longer.

The brown bits in this are the porridge you make. I didn’t break it up enough as I put it in.
