Mab, hope DH has recovered. It is very upsetting for you both. Cookie, nice to win something.
The sale has gone though. So packing in earnest now. Have hired a storage unit and have shifted a lot of boxes into it.
Ral has 1 treatment to go. These 2 are not as bad as the Chemo. After the next treatment, tests will be done to see how successful the Chemo has been.   If the cancer is still there he canít have any more Chemo. He is looking forward to the new house. We are still living with DD and spend as much time at home , packing, as possible.
About 8 weeks until we shift.

Just catching up. Thanks for all the news. Very sad about the Queen. What a woman. Feel for her family also.  Having to grieve in the publishers eye.
Still packing and packing. Did the most painful job yesterday. Decided which cooking books to keep and ones that must go. A neighbourís brother is a second hand book dealer and will take what is left.  ( think I may have selected too many)
Met with the lift company at new house. Lift will go in corner of the garage and come up in a bed room. This room we will turn into study/ library.
Thinking of dairy subs for Judyís Tim Tam balls. How about Tofu?

Thanks for the positive feedback about outside cooking.
We think we may have sold. Final look today and buyers must sign contract by lunchtime today. Yesterday was hell. 2 families wanted to buy. Agent was going back and forth  all day, with us in the middle. The selling market is very difficult at the moment and buyers are very cautious. Canít blame them. If the sale goes through, we will have 60 days to pack up and move out. We canít fit all our antique furniture into the new house. We think we can keep the pieces we love most. Books will be a massive problem . Most people use the internet for recipes but I do love my books. Ral is the same. This is what we will have to deal with. The second photo are all cooking books!

Hello ladies, nice to see you back. Iíve a 6 and it makes a good Cookidoo sponge. I donít use many of the Cookidoo recipes but in general it is a good machine. Iím also using DD 31 at the moment and the 6 has come a long, long way since the 31. I still like the 31 for it basic easy to use functions.

I was just reading Cookieís comments about enjoying the smell of her neighbours cooking. I have been a bit concerned that I might annoy my new neighbours when using the BBQ out side. I often cook roasts in the BBQ as well as grills. Any pointers?  We all seem to be so close together.

Ral is much better this week. The previous 2 weeks were not good. 2 more Chemo to go.  These are different. We donít know how , but not supposed to be as severe.

Last night I bought a takeaway chicken and made a salad to go with it.   Tonight will use left overs in a pot pie with potato on top. I do most of my cooking down home as I canít stand DD awful facilities. Will probably remove double ovens in new house and replace with same Miele that I have at Invermay.

Iíve always been concerned  about the vey tight fit of the cap on the 6. It was good to see an official statement about this.  I use an old plastic cap when cooking at a high temp. This allows more steam to escape without spilling over or splashing out.

Good morning all. Just catching up. Inspired by all thelovely cooking.
Stress relief cooking yesterday. 3 dozen sausage rolls, chocolate cake from packet( trying to use up everything in cupboards). Carrot and lemon marmalade in the TMX.
All the cooking while dealing with  a nice young man servicing  our ducted heating, phone and text messages from lift companies, ( for new home), and the Agent ringing with offers for our house. ( donít particularly like any )

Morning all.
The Forum Fests were such good fun. Such nice people with no politics. Just united through one small machine and into sharing. What could be better. We are still sharing!
Good news on our home selling/ buying. We havenít sold yet but we have bought a new home. It is 2 stories but we are able to put a lift in. It is brand new and part of a new estate in Ballarat, Insignia. Part of Alfredton. The house is opposite a wetland and park with plenty to see.

4 months ago, almost to the day, RAL was operated on and not expected to survive. Life has changed drastically for us and downsizing is difficult as well as all the Cancer treatment and tests. However we move on and RAL is responding well to the Chemo but it is not nice what it does to the mind and body.
We cannot thank our Forum friends enough for their support. If any need a holiday in Ballarat, we will have one spare bedroom and lots of good Thermo food. And a very quiet life style. Probably from next year. We can take possession in mid November but will need to set things up. Council regulations say no Pigs or chickens. Ral said he will miss the Pigs ??? and I will certainly miss the chooks.

So nice to see what all my Forum friends are up to.
Last night we took DD to look at a house we would love to buy. The owners are about to go into a big advertising campaign, and although we didnít want to buy before we sell we made an offer. Fingers crossed to it is accepted.

Many thanks for the lovely comments about our pie tasting.
Donít know why the chooks are still laying. Most unusual for this time of the year. We will not be able to take the chooks with us when we downsize. It will be the first time in 50 years that we wonít have chooks. One of the offers for our house, ( which we refused) included the chooks.
Judy, thanks for passing on the comments about the pie tasting. Very comforting  to have that support.
