Welcome to the cooking thread Strawplash ;D Sounds like you and Gordon are having a great time together! Well done :)

Those cupcakes look yummy Amy.
Your lamingtons look great too Maddy, I love your 'styling'  :)

Brunch went well,
Corn fritters with bacon
Poached eggs using poachies...easy but not quite as 'pro' looking as I had hoped
Roasted tomatoes with thyme
Sour cream loaf (rising now)

Thanks Jam! :D Your brunch sounds yummy, I would definitely be satisfied with a menu like that!

Lovely to read of your cooking fun Strawplash.
I haven't done any yet today but the plan is rolls for chicken burgers, Tenina's Granuesli and either a biscuit or Tenina's latest slice. I'll report back.  :)

Cookie, have you got Jamie's Ministry of Food? He has a granola recipe very similar to Tenina's...it doesn't have butter so no trans fats and I hate to say it, maybe a little easier than Granuesli :o I make that one all the time...We had it as part of brunch this morning  :)

lemon curd tarts.....malto milk biscuits for base, Teninas lemon curd filling, and lemon curd cream

Belated "Birthday cake" for hubby.....he doesn't eat cake....I know, weird right?  :P.....so his fave biscuits & flavour were substituted.
Why the moustaches you ask?......well, he grew a moe for "movember"

......and it has taken on a life of its own!  :-))

Everyone tells him how cool it looks (with the exception of a handful of Women).....so it is now a permanent fixture on his face  :-\
I think he looks like Old Gringo - bikey debt collector man.....

Going to make Maddys mochacino brownies to serve with the left over mocha ice cream.
A slice for DH lunchbox and some muffins for DS lunchbox. School goes back Wednesday :)

Mab19, great cooking yesterday.  How did your roasted beetroot recipe go?

Judy, the roast beetroot was lovely.  Will certainly do it again.

Have just made a batch of Scrummy Lemon Melt Cookies.   They taste delicious.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Great tarts Maddy!

I've make a carrot cake in the new nordicware pan - its the first one of that brand I have owned and the cakes just slip out so easily (with assistance of Uni's cake release!)

Uniced:

And with a drizzle of cream cheese frosting:

Also made some focaccia for dinner using the no fuss bread recipe:

And I've got a beef casserole cooking away in the slow cooker for dinner so I think my cooking is done for the day!
