Chookie, could you please send me the link to Dede’s Date and Walnut Cake - I searched in cakes but didn't have any success.  Thanks.

Well done Chookie. No cooking here today either.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

Thanks, Chookie - I didn't realise it went by a different name (and I suspect that's why I couldn't find it!).

Made hamburgers last night.
Meatballs tonight.
Had a play at making a Lemon Delicious Pud in the SC.
Preheated the SC with 1 cup of water in the bottom. Placed a silicone ring in base of SC to raise the Pyrex dish off the bottom.
Made Pud in TMX. Poured into Pyrex dish.
Placed covered dish in SC.
Baked on high 2 hours.  Probably could have 2 1/2 hours.
Why? Can spend the 2 1/2 hours outside and not worry about Pud for dinner.
The lemons are from DD garden.

A loaf of bread, Egg Mayonnaise, Bolognese Sauce and Roasted Cinnamon Strawberries.  I prefer the the roasted strawberries without the black pepper and I go easy on the cinnamon. I eat them at room temperature with Greek natural yoghurt 😋

CC, the strawberries sound interesting.
Yesterday I made vegetable soup and 8 bread rolls. All gone now
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

Date and walnut loaf (can any one tell me why you put the bicarb with the dates and boiling water?), Bean and lentil chilli and "Cowboy" beans (really, just some of the chilli with sausages and 'smashed' potatoes on top).

I made a Classic Loaf today and started my rye SD loaf. Yesterday I made a Buttermilk bread from the Basic Cookbook using the cook key. It was ok.

The hot water softens the dates and the carb works with the hot water and dates to turn the mixture brown,  I think!!
