Hi Isabella, I really enjoyed reading your story. Good for you, obviously someone telling you that you can't do something really spurs you on to prove them wrong. Pity about the marriage in the end though but you are not alone on this forum in that regard - there are a few of us been through that and come out the other side much stronger and with minds of our own. From what I have read the later model is better than the one you have - it is a lot quieter and has a reverse button on it which we use a lot as it prevents foods being chopped up. Whatever you decide to do, you have lots of options with all the replies, I wish you well in your quest to get back cooking with a Thermomix. We would all understand here how you would be feeling, not being able to use it. Thanks for becoming 'one of us'.

Don't give up on him baf65, he would have learnt something from the rice incident and won't ever do that again In my experience if men are not encouraged to help out or cook themselves they just lose interest. DD would always criticize her DH's efforts and he now does very little in the kitchen. The only thing he will do is make drinks, cook on the BBQ, make sandwiches and do bacon and eggs for Sunday breakfast. Messy - yes but it gives her a much needed break and at least he still does something. In your case, rice pudding is certainly the way to go if you didn't already throw it out. Some can be too fussy in their homes - I have a SIL who would always re-do the vacuuming after her DH did it as he left lines on the carpet

I love this idea isi - great for entertaining as it is something different and can be prepared in advance as you say. Thanks again for your wonderful postings on this forum

How about some reviews Sundari, might give people an idea of what sort of recipes are in this book and could then encourage them to buy.

Yay, the drawer finally opened this morning. It was with your shaking method Cookie1 and I couldn't believe my eyes when it happened. Nice start to the day followed by a phone call to tell the kitchen company they didn't need to come out. Phew, how much did that save me? Love spending money but not on something I can't see. Thanks for your sympathy & helpful hints guys.

You are one feisty lady who makes her own rules riv_mum and why not - you know what you are doing and I'm 100% behind you. How many would drive as far as you are expected to just to sell a book. Don't Thermomix know they are competing with the forum for recipes and if they just sold all books outright they might sell a few more.

Would that be 80g rice flour?

Thermomixer, are they grains of rice I can see in that pudding? Mine was really smooth. I used shortgrain rice but not sure if it was arborio or not. Will try the extra egg next time.

Why don't you just buy the wonton wrappers from your local chinese supermarket KL - they are really cheap at the Adelaide Central Market asian shop and I wouldn't be bothered making them for the price they charge - somewhere between $2 & $3 a packet. you dont give yourself enough credit Judy.
Maybe not generally but I did tonight on another thread

Hi Shirleyt, welcome to our little group. Gosh, where have you been hiding You must have lots of recipes you can share with us and if that meat cookbook that is in the pipeline ever gets published, maybe you will find more beef recipes in that.
