Cookie, at least it is manageable.
Yesterday was a beautiful day. 20 degrees and the garden is lovely.  Picked lots of flowers for inside , for visitors.
Finished preparing lunch food.

Different week ahead for you Chookie and cookie.  Enjoy your visitors Chookie, glad the weather has warmed up for their visits.  Sorry to hear of your losses cookie, at least the timing means you and DH can attend both funerals.

Thanks everyone.
Today I have been doing a bit of housework. Scrubbed the en suite and vacuumed through and washed floors. We had a heap of rain yesterday and it was cool. Very cool again, but not much rain.

As if we haven't had enough time off already, today is a public holiday for Melbourne cup day ... we only re-opened after lockdown 5 days ago and, because they don't normally work on a Friday, two of our staff have only worked one day since re-opening!  Ah well, the rest of our poor staff who were not used to being back at work have another day to recover before the run up to Xmas (hopefully, there will be a run up to Xmas this year for retail).

Today it is also going to be very hot ... last time I heard 28 - 29 was predicted.  I've got to go out and buy a new monitor for my computer, I'm looking at a curved screen this time ... apparently it is the latest technology ... so long as it is bigger and clearer than the one I have at the moment I will be very happy.

Have you thought of using two screens Marina? DD swears by it. Once I got used to it I found it handy.
We had a lovely morning out, a coffee run with the Veteran Car Club. We do it every month and have made some lovely new friends. Today we had 2 Model A’s, 2 Mustangs, a Case, and 2 Daimler’s. Both low down sporty V 8’s.

I hadn't thought of two screens, Cookie.  Unfortunately I don't have space for that so I am hoping that this new one, which is larger than my current screen, will work out.

Busy day today. Lovely to catch up with some cousins I hadn’t seen since the last funeral. Mum’s sisters that are still around are aging, both over 90.  They are looking really good.
Met a 6 week old baby at the other funeral, she is so sweet and didn’t utter a peep for the whole hour or so. Also caught up with my nephew who is getting married in February.
Very emotive but lovely chats.

What a day you had yesterday, Cookie.  It's a strange thing but in a way funerals - and, I think, more so wakes - are an  affirmation of family and life and (even at the hardest funerals to attend) I always find it warm and comforting to have family and friends gathered together for support..

DH and I went shopping this afternoon for a new hedge trimmer.  The old one finally died, so this will be his Christmas present.

I got my DH one of them (electric) for Xmas last year (romantic, huh?) ... he had a great time with it - until COVID came along, anyway!

We bought a battery operated one, DH is outside now playing with his toy and he is doing a good job with it

Oopps, I stand corrected, Margaret, the one I bought my DH was battery as well.

Mom, I wonder if DH would like one for Christmas? I think he may have one already.
DD and I went out to lunch again today. Just to a local Japanese place. It was lovely food, and not things I would be bothered cooking.
She signed the contract to build her house yesterday.

That’s great news cookie, many trips ahead ahead for you and DH to the building site.  Will building commence before Christmas?
