This discussion is a bit of a can o worms lol!!

Amazing it is  that we can all join in from all over the world and have a decent discussion with lots of views and no angst. This thread and discussion has brought a lot of members to the forum to have a say and that is just great.

Sounds like that's exactly what they have done Julie. Has the recipes available online been changed yet?

Does anyone know if they jugs of the knock-off fit into the Thermomix?   I'd really love a new jug but at the cost of $400.00 it's too much?

As to the recipe books, a person on another forum sent a question and received this reply:

I am terribly sorry to advise the recipe booklet is incorrect there is no reverse function
A new recipe booklet is being produced and will be available on the bellini website in the next 14 days
my sincere apologies
Best regards,

Well this has definitely been an entertaining read (along with the thread on the Simple Savings site).  I have to say that we have two Thermomixes in our house and I wouldn't part with either... nor would the other half!  That said, we bought a third last Friday, secondhand locally.   It was rather tempting to use all three but one was a gift for a friend who really needs and desperates wants one but couldn't afford new.   ;)

She was with me from my first demo over 2 and a half years ago and every single one since!  It was a no brainer.  I don't regret buying it for her for a second.  She certainly is ecstatic and relieved now that she has one in her kitchen!  8)

Oh and here's another review of the Bellini for those interested!  ;D

Ceejay that is wonderful. What a great friend she is  and a well deserved gift. You are both very fortunate.

Ceejay how kind of you.

Is anyone else old enough when we or our parents used to ask if things were 'made in Japan?'

I kind of doubt it. I'll live in hope. ;)

She is a lucky friend Ceejay, I'm so glad you didn't buy her a Bellini  ;)  I can imagine she is over the moon after all these years wanting one.

I  have to say though that not everything made is China is crap. Take for instance,  the iPad a beautiful well made and expensive product.   The integrity of the company is the important thing .

Apple have a pretty bad reputation for their treatment of the workers in the chinese plants that make the I- products.

Frozzie, I totally agree with you.

You get what you pay for.
So many people want the best product for a fraction of the price.
Maybee people with buy the bellini, take it back and save for a TMX.

Robyn

Lets hope they get their money back..i admire people who cant necessarily afford it right off the bat but save fot it and finally purchase the thx...its money better spent imo..

Cp have you made anything else in yours or given up??

Oh I agree Rosie B I would venture a guess that the factories that make things for Apple may be slightly better than the factories that are churning out Bellini products though. Maybe not but I hope so.  Have you see the VDO on  superkitchenmachine.com re the Vorwerk factory in France? That place seems ok to me. Maybe Frozzie can get a tour? That would be interesting.

Definitely haven't given up Frozzie! Unfortunately I had to go to the dentist today and I'm currently working but will have another go over the weekend. I'm really not worried if it doesn't work because Target will refund the money without a problem. I've got my fingers crossed that it will work out tho, cos it would suit my situation perfectly. If it doesn't, I will probably buy a TC, but having forked out for 3 TM's I just don't think I could afford another TM quite so soon  :D

CeeJay you are a very thoughtful friend.
