hello judy and cookie!

I was looking for the stock concentrate recipe and google brought me here so i thought I'd say hi. I haven't been cooking much these days, but slowly getting back into it.

life is crazy for me - i separated from my husband 2 years ago so am a single mum now (have the kids 8 days / fortnight). the youngest was also diagnosed with autism and adhd. I've received many diagnoses myself and have a lot of issues with pain and fatigue so life can be a struggle at times. i try to eat a paleo / AIP diet to manage my health and the tmx is a big help, hence i'm back :)

how are you both?

i haven't made this in years but it was never a high cake - just a very low, dense, moist cake.

made it last night - love how easy it was and taste was ok but the spices tasted undercooked, or maybe too much turmeric. nice base but will play a little :)

oops, i did do a search and it didn't come up!

made this last night and was pleasantly surprised.

it is much easier to make than it appears when you first look at the 2 page recipe! i think it will become a favourite due to its simplicity actually.

the taste was not at all what i expected - VERY subtle, but definitely grew on me as i ate. you wouldn't want to serve it with a vindaloo or anything over powering - i think on its own or with a simple vege dish or a garlic naan would be perfect.

i had no yoghurt so made it with some cream i had to use up and a small splosh of apple cider vinegar. that was fine though i think the yoghurt would be better. i had actually missed the yoghurt in the recipe and thought it was dairy free when i started it, so next time i'll try some lactose free cream, or possibly making it with some curdled rice milk or something.

i give it 3.5 - 4 stars :)

Also where she mentioned about the dials and buttons on the TM being confusing, I think the TM is so easy to set, only takes 2 seconds. (but I have had mine for quiet awhile now and it's second nature
ryan was cooking full meals completely independently at 7yo with the thermomix. not sure what her intellectual capabilities are lol
