The chicken in the AF was amazing. It was cooked at 180° for an hour. It was cooked all the way through and yummy.

We had lasagne tonight.

We're still having days of at least 30. I think yesterday was 33. We had the air con on and do again today.
Nothing to be cooked today. Last night's guests didn't eat much so I have put the leftovers in the freezer.

I made some sultana and almond muffins. Yesterday I did a date loaf and an old fashioned fruit slice like Mum used to make.

Same here Mab. The shelves were rather empty here as the railway line is out on the Nullabor and trucks are only just coming through. I was surprised at some of the things that were low, cordials and fruit juices, powdered milk, most yoghurts. Plenty of toilet paper. ;D ;D ;D

A good nights sleep is very important. I’m not very nice if I don’t sleep well.

Yes Judy. Many of the drivers were complaining.

Jams and Chutneys / Re: Easy Fig Jam
« on: March 24, 2024, 12:55:52 pm »
A friend rang from Augusta last week to ask if I would make him some fig jam, if he brought me the figs. Of course I said yes. I used this recipe twice and got 4 lovely jars. I overcooked the first batch a bit so it’s fig jam/paste.

Brilliant. I’ve recently started using kitchen scissors to cut up dried apricots.

Well done Marina. A few of our friends use them. Something about equalising pressure in airways isn’t it?

We had a car run today. It was through a lot of roundabouts (lots of gear changing and hard steering). You need to double de clutch on Model A’s so it is hard driving. A pleasant outing and meeting.
