Has anyone cooked with pine mushrooms?  I often see them at the farmer's market but never know what to do with them.  They look as though they would be a very 'robust' vegetable fungus, maybe with a very strong taste.

Never would find them up here but in Sydney yes.

I've never heard of pine mushrooms either.
Those bows look great, if I had any room in my kitchen I'd buy some. But no room!

We've tasted the beetroot, sweet potato & carrot cake and my DH has declared it delicious!
He said it's his new favourite cake. I'll post the recipe when I have time.

I find IGA pease street has a good variety of mushrooms Gert. However I've never really looked at Coles or woolworths so can't compare.

Yum all!

Thanks for the pine mushroom reference, Gert.  I might have a chat to the stall holder next time I see them on sale.

Katie, that cake really looks appetising.  I will look forward to the recipe.

Yes they do. They have a totally different range of a few things and the meat is not bad either.

These would taste ok without the nuts Katie. Although it does add to them.
