We have much the same financial arrangement in our house JulieO. It works well for me and I don't hear of any complaints.

After cleaning out my kitchen a little decided I deserved and can fit in the pasta maker. My local Good Guys had one left and while I now realise I could have got a better deal I'm happy. I've also found a relatively local HN that has both the Chinese and Japanese noodle set in stock so off to pick them up this morning. So far the pasta seems quite a bit heavier than normal homemade pasta and DH isn't overly impressed, but hoping it's just getting used to it.

For those with the pasta make when using in a pasta bake or noodle dish do you cook the noodles/pasta first or just add and cook in the dish?

Yes, my DH does indeed need more training on 'financial training' (despite being an economist with an MBA), but he won't sign up for the course Obbie!

I don't cook mine before Wonder. I now find that although the pasta may be a little heavier the taste is much nicer.

I've been using a mix of semolina and flour as recommended in the book at its a bit lighter wonder. I do precook for pasta bake and only cook in oven long enough to warm sauce and brown cheesey top.

It's interesting how we like to do different things. Obviously we do what works for us.

MEP, I think I am lucky with my DH.
He says I don't spend enough... :)

I am still waiting on HN for a pasta machine.
My Thermomix,  Kitchen Aid, Pizza oven, Nu Wave 5 in 1, Spatulas, all brings love, laughter, happiness, and great food  to my kitchen.

Kimmyh, when you use semolina and flour is it a semolina flour? And how much do you use.  I just love the pasta as it is with just flour but I'm up to trying other things might be even better😃

I picked up these leather Nine West boots yesterday cheaply on eBay.  I think they'll come up lovely with some leather cleaner/protector.  :D

Brenda, you'll find the recipe for the semolina pasta in the cookbook that came with the machine.  Use the very fine semolina that you find in the supermarkets (not the coarse).  :D

I do the same as Kimmy (regarding cooking the pasta first for a pasta bake).  :)

Wow Julie, lovely.
Nothing so sexy here, just 2 sets of automatic chook waters and feeders.

Chookie, will the waterers freeze during the winter or do they somehow manage to keep running?  My chooks are left pretty much to their own devices during the week, although my neighbour, their owners, keeps an eye on them, but water during the cold winter freezing water could be problematic.  Did you have to ' train' your chooks on how to use the feeder - is it one of the step on a lever / plate type?
