Greyhoundmum, I really enjoyed reading "We need to talk about Kevin" but the movie was a waste of time - such a shame.

I can' re member Rainbow if I have read that so must check. Love that author.

I just finished Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn which I am pretty sure I got as a freebie but is now .$17.98 on Amazon. I like it because it was up to date with technology. I hate new books, especially  thrillers  where no bugger has a mobile phone or iPad or laptop nor use FB or twitter. What is that All about? Can't they figure it out or do they think  the reader is stupid. Everybody is connected to everyone else these days. No saying  I could not get in contact as I could not find a phone box. . LOL OK. Jack Reacher  I will accept as he has only his toothbrush in his pocket.

I am now reading a very good bit of Australian Literature,  Journey to the Stone Country by Alex Miller. Really good.

I suspected it might be so i won't bother with the film. the author has a wonderful way with words when she describes the anguish of being a mother to him.

Just starting a totally different book to what I normally would read.
It is Bill the Bastard, by Roland Perry.  The story of Australia's greatest war horse.  I just hope it ends well

I am just starting Buried Prey by John Sandford.
It's a Lucas Davenport novel and I have really enjoyed the series although it's been awhile since my last one.

MF it is The Forgotten.

Dublin Girl in Oz I have just finished The Dinner. How did you like it? I should imagine it would lead to a lot of discussion.

Possession by A.S. Byatt, good so far. Bought Umberto Eco's Prague Cemetery for next to nothing on kindle so that is next. Hope it's good, some of his stuff is excellent but some is a bit indulgent IMHO.
Conference this week than a week in Tassie on holiday so lots of time to read.😀
