Hello from North Qld
« on: June 04, 2009, 01:29:13 pm »
Hi!

My Thermomix arrived this evening.  We haven't used it yet as dinner and dessert were planned (birthday in the house).  I'm busily planning meals for the coming days though.  I love the recipes - so easy.

I have a large family, so looking forward to seeing how the Thermomix copes with making enough food for us all...  The Warmer will be very handy I think!

Hi Bel, welcome to the forum.  Be interesting to hear how you get on with your TMX seeing as you have a bigger family.  What do you call 'big'?

Hi Karen, yes I do Menu Plan Monday on my blog. :)

Hi judydawn, there's at least 8 of us for most meals.  Next week will be 4 adults and 6 children I think!  Has been 2 adults and 7 children for the past week.  All very healthy appetites too!

judydawn, I hope I won't need 2.  I just missed out on the cheaper 2nd bowl from my recent demo as the sale went through after the weekend.

I will still use my rice cooker.  And I'll use the thermo server a lot I think.  In fact, I wouldn't mind another of those!

Wish me luck in using the Thermomix to its capacity!

Hello and welcome, Bel! I'm guessing from the lack of questions that North Qld is in Australia?

Wow your kids must eat a lot of rice Brazen... Rice in the TM feeds all 7 of us (3 of them teenage boys lol)...hmmm maybe I need to encourage them to eat more rice...not that rice is cheap anymore  :o

Welcome Mama bel! The THX makes 400g rice, that is alot of rice, are you sure that you would eat more than that? I have a big hungry family, with lots of bestfriends invited along too, the rice is wonderful in THX! You must have a busy kitchen! You may find the capacity on the smaller size, but I am sure you will somehow manage and give up some tips of how to use it to its full capacity and more! It will be great for sauces, deeserts, sorbets, drinks etc. An extra pair of hands in the kitchen.
