cheesy staws
« on: December 20, 2011, 07:17:00 am »
Hi all,
I've just made the cheesy straw recipe from the vegetarian TMX cookbook my kids who are HUGE cracker/breadstick eaters don't like them. :( I'm thinking that the cheese flavour is a little overwhelming for them - any ideas how I can convert the recipe so that there isn't as much cheese in them?????  Can I replace the cheese with something else?????
I'm really happy that I have a recipe that works - now I just have to change the flavour!!!!!!
TAm  :)

I would just halve the amount of cheese Tam - it shouldn't affect the outcome of the biscuit but will certainly reduce the cheesy flavour.   Try my recipe for Cheese & Herb biscuits, that only has 40g cheddar.

Are these like those twisted cheese stick crackers that you buy?

Thanks ladies, I will certainly give yours a go Judy.  I'll buy some mild cheese too - I used tasty although my girls are used to this.
Twiterpated, They're like a twisted cheese stick that you buy however I also made some into normal cracker shapes. :)
