This is delicious and easy. the hardest part is rubbing the brown skins off the roasted hazelnuts.! Of course you could add Chocolate and create Ferrero Rocher Ice Cream.
3/4 cup of Hazelnuts. roasted until quite brown but not burnt. Place in a tea towel and rub together to remove the brown skin. Place in TMX bowl and chop, speed 5 , 2 seconds. there will be some fine powder and larger pieces. Set aside. No need to wash bowl out.
600 mls cream
250 mls mik
200 grams of sugar
1 teaspoon of Vanilla
100 mls of Frangelico Liqueur
Method
Place all ingredients in TMX bowl and mix, speed 5 for 20 seconds.
Pour into Ice Cream Machine and process until nearly frozen.
Add most of the ground Hazelnuts and continue to mix for 2 minutes.
Place in container in freezer. It will not set hard and can be served straight from the freezer.
I will serve this with Crepes filled with chocolate Mousse. Photo to come.

My mouth is watering Chookie. It sounds delicious.
-
Yum! Yum! Sounds delicious Chookie.
-
Chookie you can buy hazelnuts now which have already been peeled, keep an eye out for them as they make life so much easier.
The recipe sounds lovely, unfortunately I've never had that liqueur in my wine cupboard.
-
Another great recipe, thanks Chookie. (I will wait until we get some warmer weather, but frangelico in cupboard)
Welcome home Trudy

Not quite Bedlam. Leave Dubai at 2am, it's 4.30pm now so just taking it easy. Will be in Aus tomorrow night.
-
Judy, will look out for the skinless nuts. Maybe you could 'borrow' a little from someone.
-
oh me oh my. we just bought a bottle of frangelico :o ;D ;D
-
yum :)
-
have just made the second lot of the ice cream in 2 days. !!!!!
-
It must be very nice, as I imagine it has been very cold there.

I made this last weekend as we had friends around for dinner and he loves ice cream, friend and I decided chocolate sauce would have been nice, he asked how quick I could make it in the TM. I cut down the sugar just a bit, only problem with this ice cream as it's so yummy and doesn't last long lol.

Good old thermomix to the rescue.

We made this last night and put it in the freezer overnight. DH agrees that the hardest part is peeling the hazelnuts :) otherwise it is an easy ice cream to make. We just had a bowl and it's a really lovely, creamy & yummy ice cream .... Described by DH as the best :)
-
Kerry, you can buy peeled hazelnuts - have a look in your supermarket.
-
Easiest to peel hazelnuts by putting them in a 180 oven for 4-5 minutes, the skins rub off really easily if you can tolerate a few stuck bits. Makes the nuts crunchier too

Agree. Does give the Hazelnut a better flavour.

Generally buy our nuts in bulk & haven't seen them peeled. It wasn't too bad roasted them in the airfryer & it was worth it for the ice cream :)

Made this last night along with Emerald Sue's Mint, Chocolate Chip Icecream & both were winners 😀

I still haven't tried this. I will probably wait until warmer weather as we don't eat much icecream during the winter months.
