I've had a day at home today, there's a street fair near the nursing home today so I knew I wouldn't be able to get a park for my normal visit there.  I've had a busy day but have really enjoyed myself.

Started off with Chookie's no fuss dough - decided to use my new bannetton baskets.  I think all the dough would have fitted into the round bowl but we learn as we go along.  The bread is fine, it's just the shape didn't fill out enough for the round one.  I'll do better next time.

I then started a gelato recipe from my new book and that won't be finished until later tonight, it has to 'age' for 4 hours in the fridge before it can be churned.

Curried Pumpkin soup from ITM2 was my next dish, review later after I've had it for tea.

Whilst I had the pumpkin out, I started the pumpkin curry ice-cream from ITM2, that's in the freezer now for the first stage so a review on that once it's finished.

Lastly I made the Sardine Rillettes from ITM2, a review on that one later too.

Make the most of every day, you never know what is around the corner.

mab19...nothing like cookies for brekkie..YUM re the shortcrust squares...which recipe did you use? Sounds and looks delicious...DH would love these too!

Easy peaasy MDU.  I just used some Borgs short crust pastry sheets cut them into squares cooked and then filled with jam & cream.  The GD's loved them.

Looking forward to the reviews Judy. Dede at least the washing up is done.
I made some strawberry icecream. I rippled it with a few dobs of strawberry jam and added a slurp of Jeninwa's strawberry gin liquer. Gotta love the thermomix and all that it makes.

I made a batch of apple and blueberry porridge, then pureed some other fruits, then a batch of pureed peach, apricot and semolina.  :)
And apparently I am meant to be having a day off cooking today!!!  ;)
DH cooked bacon and eggs and hash browns for breakfast, bacon and eggs with toast for lunch and apparently it is subway for tea - tho the subway is because miss7 won a voucher in her sports carnival on Friday for a free foot long sub, free drink and a free cookie.  :D

I have just caught up with 5 pages of posts.  great cooking.  So much energy and so much food.
Today measured out the ingredients for the Christmas Pudding with Carrots.  Makes 25 serves,  but will cook it in several basins,  for Xmas presents.  Going to mix 2 SD loaves to sit over night and bake in the morning.  One is a gift.

Today I converted my first recipe in the TM  - Feta Chilli Chicken. Some tweaking still needed as sauce too runny & if wasn't serving to my 15 month daughter I would have added more chilli but was tasty anyway.

Also made hazlenut raspberry pikelets from the baby & toddler book. Made the mistake of over mixing the berries/batter so didn't cook as well, so will have to give it another go & stick to the recipie.

Oh it's good isn't it! The lamb was so tender. I normally make it with chicken. But lamb was a winner! And enough for another meal this week :)

No cooking for me today. Yesterday DD started a recipe of Adriano Zumbo's. Apple Crumble Brioche. She finished them this morning. They are a brioche dough with an apple and custard filling and crumble on the top. She only made a half quantity, but it still made 7 large ones.
