A little side tracked Judy - possibly a slight understatement. But at least it is done now.

I've been having a rather large war with Telstra today. They have mucked around with the plan my ipad is on and messed it up big time. Over the last 24 hours I have been arguing with them. They have taken all the credit that I had on there, over $700. Then to make matters worse I received an email saying my mobile fee was going up, it has gone up 125% in the last 3 years. I know we can probably afford it but it just makes me angry. What about the people who can't afford it?

This morning I went to the doctor to get my latest blood test results. All good. Lucky he took my blood pressure before I started with Telstra. I think I had better go and bake!

Baking will calm you down cookie.  I haven’t had too much trouble with Telstra but some have had real dramas like yours.  I hope you’re winning the battle with them.  The hardest trouble I had was during the height of Covid when you couldn’t even get to speak to anyone, they sure do frustrate people.  Maybe it’s time to look around at other options.

I had a PET and CT scan today, results by the end of the week when I see my 2 specialists. Also had an appointment with a Dietician at my gym who was more helpful than the others I’ve seen over the journey.  She was happy with the soups I’ve been making, gave me a breakfast smoothie recipe plus a high fibre night cap snack which I’ve prepared to last me a few days. I’ll have the smoothie in the morning and will be adding more Sustagen neutral powder to quite a few more of my soups and desserts.

Cookie I feel for you trying to deal with Telstra.  When we moved in here at Invermay, our DS set up all the NBN.  He works for Telstra in some special section. ( we are not allowed to ask any questions) . He was put on hold for 1 1/2 hours.  He said no wonder people get upset.
Judy, you have done so well getting all your jobs done. GS helped RAL remove the Security gate that needs repairing. I sweetened him up with Garlic bread.
GD loaded up her car with the bar fridge and fan that we have given her for her room at Uni.

It’s great that your GC are so helpful around the property Chookie and in return you can do nice things for them as well.  My GD recently started some shifts as a casual worker in a cafe after school and over the weekend then successfully went for her Ls and passed.  A lot happening in that household at the moment, we have a young lady in our lives now - it seemed to happen overnight once she turned 16.

Cookie, in the past we have had trouble with both Telstra and Optus so we will not go back to them. They hold a great deal of power over their customers and it is only by leaving them (once you get your credit back, of course) that, perhaps eventually, they will figure out that they are not the only provider in Australia and improve their service.

It is for that reason that we have left our bank, Westpac and gone to one with an ethical base, after their recent scandal over money laundering for pedophiles ... that was the last straw.  We don't have a big account, but lots of small people can make a difference..

Most definitely but unfortunately we don’t speak up often enough in numbers.

So true. I’m sorry to have grumped yesterday. The saga is on going. KAtie they tell me that my credit is still there for my iPad ($721) but I can’t use it for the internet. I know they just want me to go away and shut up.....but I have decided to stick with it.

Go for it Cookie, then change your provider!!!  It will serve them right.  I suspect Telstra works on the principle that we are all so busy these days that we can't be bothered chasing them, but you have the time to keep at them ... drive them mad.  My DH always says "the squeaky hinge always gets seen to".

Thanks for the encouragement Marina and your DH is right. Last night at 9.30pm they said they would be in touch again at 8am, of course they haven't.

I did the shopping this morning and DH helped. This afternoon we had a very dear friend drop round. It was extra special as he is such a gentleman (much like Ral) and reminds me of my Dad. Dad would have been 105 today, I think he may have been a bit grumpy if he was still around.

DD has been doing a great job helping with shearing , yes still going . So hot I did a lemonade icy pole run . Let’s just say the wool classier had the same idea and the shed freezer is full of lemonade icy poles !! Now it feels like summer, hot days , the shed buzzing ( could always do without the loud shears music) lots of wool bales and of course those nightly bugs . DD had a dragon fly tapping on her window last night .

K Atie , all sounds good.
Cookie, thanks, nice comment about Ral.
Further on the ‘ little people’. My DD is a little people.  She has just taken on the big boys in Ballarat and won.  It was to do with the use of the big lake that is shared by 6 different water sport organisations. She is on the executive of 3 of the bodies and stated that they need a flexible time table for use of the lake.  She called a meeting and some said they wouldn’t attend. She said we will go ahead without you.  Guess what, they attended. They now have a schedule for the use of the lake and the council will supply the administration necessary.
When I need help with an issue, and am blocked by administration, I sometimes deliberately contact the wrong department , plead ignorance and ask for help. Sometimes works.

Good thinking, Chookie

If I am ringing an organisation and get the dreaded press 1 for .., press 2 for ... message loop I simply do nothing and (nearly) always eventually get to speak to an actual human

What a wonderful DD Chookie. Good on her.

I try to do that too Marina. I had an email from T saying they had inadvertently put some information in the white pages online. It was removed 3 days later and they gave me a number to ring. They kept texting to remind me. I rang, got through immediately and had a lovely, clear speaking human on the other end. She sorted that out and the other dramas within 10 minutes. I was left wondering what the others were doing or not doing.
I love saying I’m 71 and have no idea about computers or pushing buttons etc. sometimes they believe me. 😀😀😀😀😀😀
Sorry to see Melbourne has a 5 day lockdown. This Covid is unbelievable.
