We bought ourselves early Christmas presents this morning.  A Stilh whipper snipper for DH and a Phillips air fryer for me.
The  man who said it can't be done should not interupt the woman doing it.

I once bought DH one of these chainsaws for his birthday ... and he bought me a leaf blower ... romantic, aren't we!

We all get like that don't we? DH has his vintage cars and all their parts etc and tools to work on them and I have my thermomixes and anything else I decide I need.
DH thought that one of his brothers sons took all his tools, however apparently he only took his new tool set. On Saturday DH came home with a ute load of tools his brother had bought over the years. Several tool sets were repeated, I think he forgot he had them after his strokes. Most of the electrical things no longer work, some were brand new, still in the box. :-[ DH is busy going through them, cleaning them up and he hopes to sell most of them on Gumtree for his SIL.

Cookie, a big job for your DH.  At least he will know what he is dealing with.
Shopping? . I buy what I want. Mostly unusual ingredients. Latest was Inca Berries. Dried Cape Gooseberries.

Several weeks ago I bought 2 recipe books. One , I didn’t open until yesterday. It is the Good Food Favourite recipes.  All my favourite cooks are featured and I would like to cook 99% of the recipes. This isn’t often the case.  I check each recipe to see if it has garlic and if it also has oil or butter I can the substitute garlic infused olive oil.  I really dislike gluten free flour, but if a recipe has 100 grams or less it is usually ok. I sometimes get really inventive and tip in a bit of SD starter.

Books like that are well worth buying Chookie, pity you have restrictions but you seem to be well on top of what you can make substitutes with.

I’ve seen that book tempting me Chookie. I’m trying to tell myself that basic ingredients can only be combined in so many ways, hence I don’t need anymore books.

Made first recipe from Neil Perry.  It was very easy and absolutely delicious.  Will post.
Needed to go to Apple shop at Highpoint  to get new cover for iPad. Found a Japanese shop where everything is $2.80. Amazing. Will post photos when I get home.

Was that shop Daiso Chookie?  I have heard ladies at the gym discussing it but I have never been in one ... yet ;D

Quite possibly Daiso. DD discovered it years ago when she was in Japan. Then when she discovered them in Melbourne she was over the moon. We now have one at our local Westfield. I often pop in and pick up little containers I need or something similar. The dried mango they have from Cebu in the Philippines is lovely. The couple down the road have a house in Cebu and go back a couple of times a year. They brought us some back and then we found it in Daiso.

Yes , that is the shop, Daiso. I bought small mesh bags to pop in my hand bag. Sheets of fluffy stuff that soaks up scum or oil on top of stock.
Marina, is there one in Melbourne?  This one was at Highpoint.
