Baked Ricotta and Grapes

This is not really a recipe. The idea came from the Age newspaper's food writer, Briditte Hafner. You can make the Ricotta in the TMX or buy some. Cut a wedge for each person and place on a heat proof serving plate. Arrange a small bunch of grapes for each person , over the Ricotta. Drizzle good EVOO over the grapes and Ricotta. Bake in a hot oven until the Ricotta is brown around the edges and the grapes singed.

Serve with fresh crusty bread.

Mmm. I think this would be the ultimate end to a meal.

..... and so simple too girls.  Your picture is obviously before it's baked Chookie. Does the baking make a big difference to the taste?

It looks great. Funny, I would not normally associate something with crusty bread for dessert.

I often serve crusty bread with a soft French Cheese , for 'afters'

No,  I bought some from the Supermarket,  just to get the strainer that it is sold in.  Then i had to find recipes to use it up,  (1 k.) Someone on the Forum mentioned the plastic strainer.  I have made several lots of Ricotta and love it.  Although I must say,  that for $5 ,  it was a very good buy.

It's a great little strainer, and I think the ricotta that comes with, is better than the stuff in the deli counter.
I prefer making it now, but it's great to use if you need a large amount quickly.

Roughly how long did you bake it for chookie?
Did the grapes soften down?

Maddy I put it in the preheated oven,  220 C.  I baked it until the ricotta was slightly brown on the edges and the grapes were heated and split a little. I had poured a generous amount of olive oil over the lot.

Do you think I could serve this as an entree, or would it be better at the end of a meal? Would you still have sweets? Sorry, rather ignorant of this type of food and when to eat it.
