Chit Chat / "Instant Pot" or similiar
« on: November 29, 2017, 06:43:51 am »
Hopefully this is allowed but I wanted to ask if anyone has an Instant Pot (realise that they aren't for sale in AU but know you can have them shipped here) or a similar Breville Fast Slow Pro, Philips all in one cooker?

I am very interested in one but just want to make sure I will use it and it is not a fad.  I think it will really complement the Thermo and was wondering if any one has one and if they do what type and how much they use it.

thank you

I can't recall seeing a post from her in awhile. Is she on holidays? I miss her postings. Of course there is the possibility that she is around and I have just not seen her!!

Pg 83 but I got the recipe here as I don't have the book

http://www.7perth.com.au/view/today-tonight-articles/today-tonight-thermomix_20120621182311/

I have to say the only change I made was I used ground turmeric as I didn't have fresh (which in the recipe it stated it was fine).

It was a flop, chicken totally shredded, very blah and not a nice curry at all.  My hubby who will eat anything at all without complaint even said it wasn't very nice was it.

I threw the recipe out and won't make it again

Chit Chat / Just came across this review on the thermo
« on: March 14, 2012, 03:27:31 am »
http://www.lovelyliving.com.au/cookeatplay/reviews/my-thoughts-on-the-thermomix/

I can actually relate because at first I felt a bit like this and a bit like why did I waste my money but I have grown more and more fonder of the thermomix, there are still times when I don't think I would buy it again but then I think I need to use it more etc.

my son loves loves loves corn dogs after a trip to the US a few years ago.  I thought I would try and recreate them for him and came across this recipe via the pioneer woman site http://thepioneerwoman.com/cooking/2011/10/classic-corn-dogs-and-cheese-on-a-stick/ but have no idea what to substitute the ■6 cups Krusteaz Pancake Mix for. I googled it and came across their website http://www.krusteaz.com/pancake-and-waffle-mixes-products-46/original-pancake-mix-1047#!ingredientstab but upon looking at the ingredients it is full of stuff I wouldn't want to use.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Chit Chat / Lunch Box ideas for school kids
« on: February 01, 2011, 02:50:07 am »
just need some lunch ideas that I could prepare in tmx for lunch boxes.  Otherwise my poor kids get sandwiches every day.

I did a search but couldn't find anything similiar.

Thanks

Chit Chat / I need some menu planning help, from all you creative cooks
« on: January 20, 2011, 06:23:39 am »
everytime I sit down to write a menu plan before shopping I get so stuck.  Nothing comes to mind and I can't think what I cook lol.  I want to start getting organised and being a little more budget friendly and especially need some creative ideas for lunchboxes for kids going back to school.   I need some easy things in there too, don't mind making more complicated dinners but just not every night ikwim.

Not too fussy just won't cook pork, but will cook bacon and use ham and no meat with bones lol.  Ok that sounds like I am really fussy lol.  I really need some easy good suggestions for our family which is 2 adults and three children.  We have a lot of beef in the freezer from investing a while back in a quarter of a cow.

Thanks in advance

Chit Chat / My Thermomix arrived today
« on: December 15, 2010, 01:50:45 pm »
it was so exciting, after my initial second thoughts lol (weird to think I had them now)!  I have just spent the last hour going over the recipe books and writing menu plan for the week.  It is actually amazing how little I need on my shopping list, just mostly fresh fruit/vege's and the rest of what is needed is basically pantry staples.  I can see this really paying off quite quickly.

Chit Chat / Saved the cash for a Thermomix but now am having 2nd thoughts
« on: December 07, 2010, 06:26:46 am »
will I regret it.  I know it is probably silly asking this on a forum where people are so passionate about it but I am so worried about buyers remorse, it is such a lot of money.  I said to myself I wouldn't buy one until I saved the money for it, no going into debt for it but now that I have i am not sure I should go through with the actual purchase.

I have three kids, a husband I know that I will use it but did anyone else have these thoughts beforehand?
