I did my grocery shopping this morning too. Then I went to the Italian shop. My brother's partner doesn't eat pork at all and I was able to get some beef prosciutto and some smoked beef. They are coming for lunch tomorrow. I'm cooking a stuffed chicken breast roll and corned beef at the moment. I got some nice maple glazed ham on the bone at the Italian shop.

Cookie you are amazing keeping up healthy eating in all that hot weather . Think we all need The Italian shop  .
Kittens were very hot today , when there was a breeze I found them up the Apple tree or under the fig tree . Lots of sleeping. Trying to tidy up my mess it takes ages and never looks like much is done .

Take heart, K Atie - whenever I have a big clean up or tidy up, things always look worse before they get better so you will get there.

K Atie, we missed the storm but did get a cool change. Opened all the windows, turned off AC.

You asked about the Dyson cool air cleaner that we bought before Xmas. It is not a refrigerated item. It is a fan cooler that removes nasties from the air. Our bedroom is very dusty. The rest of the house isn’t. We do have an air filter in the bedroom but the filters are a nuisance to clean.  The Dyson filters are just replace annually with new ones. $100 .

I’ve been watching the BBL cricket and the West Aussie Scorchers have just won. I don’t like tennis much but have enjoyed the hi jinks of Special K boys. I hope Kyrgios behaves fairly well in the final. Ash Barty is wonderful so I will enjoy watching her too.

I picked up my reading glasses today, I still feel they are not quite right.

Spending the weekend cleaning up following a flood on Friday after really heavy rains.  Fortunately, we were lucky, it didn't quite get into the house, but the hen house, DH's workshop, the wood shed and garden shed all got wet to varying degrees and the outside clean up wasn't as bad as it could have been but it has kept us going washing down and tidying everything up.

Marina, glad there wasn’t too much of a mess. We missed most of it.
Mab, we are doing better with the glasses since we changed optometrist. R
I’ve taken inspiration from Judy and Gert. Decided to attack a cupboard at a time. Yesterday did the laundry cupboard. Found fittings for stick vac. that was tossed out ages ago as it wasn’t working.  Tossed the lot out. Then the garage. Fittings for a motor bike. We don’t have a motor bike. Out also. Then a box of very good boxed brandy and whiskey. Not chucking that out but will use in cooking. If I’m brave today will do the cake tins.
Will watch the tennis.

Go Chookie! Just think of it as doing your kids a favour by decluttering, they will thank you for it.

Extra jobs are a nuisance Marina, lucky you’re there to be able to clean up after the rain though.

Back to the optometrist Margaret, eventually they will get them right.

Warm again today. We had 40 yesterday but I think today is cooler. Vacuumed but that is about all. DD suggested we start a clean out, but then decided it was too hot.

We had a car run today. It's always good fun. Today was the first day that we had to show proof of vaccination.
I have book club tonight. DH has just gone up to Mundaring (up  in the hills) to a friends factory. They sell safety glasses and DD needs some for work!!!  I would have hoped that they would be provided,  but apparently not. They are running out of face shields.

Today was the first time I had to show my vaccination record too cookie, I went for a blood test so nothing as exciting as your day out.   Good old Dad helping DD out, well done to him.
