I could go a slice of that cake right now cookie. Delicious.
Cooking for good Friday family lunch. Made spinach and salmon roulade, hot cross buns , choc ripple cake and Biscotten torte. Here's a pic of the last two hot cross buns. I think chookies rat might have turned up down here!

Fantastic hot cross buns Kimmy!

For the first time in weeks I have time over Easter to do some cooking, so I am up early today making hot cross buns.  I am using a recipe for Apple and Cinnamon hot cross buns that I got from a Miele cooking class - our kids don't like peel, and one doesn't like sultanas, so I thought this would be a good alternative.

And after the buns, a batch of JulieO's slow roasted tomato and garlic and red wine sauce, some sausage rolls and beef enchiladas.

And DS has requested carob pannacotta - so I suppose I'll modify one of the recipes on here to have a go at that!

So happy to be back in the kitchen ;D ;D

Yummy  Karen. Apple cinnamon sounds like a great flavour for hot cross buns.

Kimmyh,  never mind the rat attack at Cherokee.  Your  Hot X Buns  look beautiful.  I would happily attack one or more.  This is the first time for years that I haven't made Hot X Buns..  Just haven't had time with the GC here., we have made chocolate bird nests with chickens and eggs. We have cooked 2 dozen SD crumpets for the Farmers market tomorrow, cooked  roast dinners for 2 days , Apple crumble and a new Spanish veggie dish . Creme  de Menthe ice cream and Vanilla ice cream., I nearly forgot the corn and pea risotto.
Then a very pleasant unexpected visitor and not a biscuit or cake to offer.
O h hell.

Very cute Chookie. Kimmy your hot cross buns look perfect.

Today I've baked a loaf of bread, Chookies hot cross buns, roasted some pumpkin and poached some chicken to use in quiches, made the quiches, made Kezza's AWW meatloaf but as meatballs, air fried some baby potatoes, baked a custard tea cake (recipe from Mother Hubbard's Cupbaod blog)  and made Nan's curried tuna slice for tea.

My feet hurt now!

Looks great Katie, have a sit and a cuppa.
Kimmy you definetly nailed those hot cross buns, YUM.
I made Skinnymixers massaman curry yesterday ( made the sauce in Thermie and then slow cooked  it doubling the beef) and now doing the same with her butter chicken.  House smells amazing but not much too eat!  We are having a surprise party for my DB.  He turns 40 on the 12th.  My DD has organised a murder mystery.  He has Down's syndrome and loves any excuse to wear his suit, so we have  a corporate theme.  I have just told him we are having a special easter meal so please dress up.  Hope it goes off ok and he isn't the one murdered.
