Just popping in for a short visit.   Nice to catch up and see what everyone is doing.
Today we went to Melbourne.  We had 6 jobs to do.  All over the place.  Good news and bad news.  Bad news is that we have 44 down lights ,  we would like to replace the globes with energy saving ones.  They don't make suitable ones.  Good news , my iPhone has been loosing power very quickly,  getting hot and vibrating when ever I switch it on.   I paid $45 service fee and they gave me a new phone.
It is freezing here and expecting snow during the week.

I know all about the light situation . Bloody hopeless but you will be better off NOT changing them believe me.

Win with the phone. Yeah!

Hi Gert, can you elaborate on reasons not to change?  We are thinking of replacing halogen down lights with LED ones but it is a significant initial cost.

So the guy comes from the Queensland Government or energy supplier of what ever.  He sees all our lights, goes out to the truck, comes back with a bucket load of energy savers all Chinese crap. Replaces every one maybe about 16 . One. By one since day one they have
all failed . We are now in the process of changing them one by one with  $40 Globes . I hate the light they give. Ok but in some places you need BRIGHT lights. Soft lights in others and I want my energy chewing old fashioned globes back thank you. The few halogen lights we have no bugger is touching.

Absolutely a waste of government money and mine. Leave well. Enough alone.

It is DH's birthday today. He hates birthdays and Christmas. I have made him a simple, lopsided, lumpy Chocolate Cake by hand.

Happy Birthday to your DH Cookie( I believe in celebrating every one of them, my DH same as yours).love your table clothe Cookie.
I understand your pain with halogen downlights. We signed our contract to build yesterday ( very scary), we are having led down lights, builder says they last 500000 hours. We saw them in action and the light looks good.  I think it would be a case of demanding replacement if they don't do the distance as they are quite expensive initially .
Being super lazy today, got up at 9am!

Could not agree more if I tried!!!!    And don't get me started on the use of halogen headlights in cars now - I'm surprised there's not a law against using them - way too bright for oncoming traffic and, from what i've heard, no real advantage but more like a fashion statement and used as a selling tool by various current manufacturers. (Old and grumpy getting off soapbox now . . . . :-)))

Happy birthday to your DH Cookie, most men only want a low key affair.  As I get older, it suits me too  ;D
