House burgers here too.
Hopefully lamb if there is some at the shops (Sunday night is not a night for mincing ones own meat).
Also too lazy to make own bread.  One dough in a day is enough for me (made pork buns for lunch).

Would love your pork buns recipe.
Thanks
Halex :)

Links for them are in this post:

For me there was about three times too much dough for the filling. I'd recommend at least doubling the pork recipe.  The buns freeze really well once steamed.

strawberry vodka

Loosely fill a jar with strawberries and about a cup of sugar.  Cover with vodka and store somewhere dark and cool for 2-3 weeks.  Turn the jar every day or two.  It's ready when the strawberries are mostly white and the liquid is mostly red.

I usually decant the strained liquid back into an empty vodka bottle and keep it in the freezer.  Good in cocktails, over ice cream or over ice.

BBQ Pork Buns

A bit of an effort, but worth it.  Also, the filling is nowhere near enough for the quantity of dough.  Currently experimenting with baking the leftover dough in small rolls.

Update: burnt the small rolls. oops.

Breakfast / Banana and oat pikelets for 2
« on: September 02, 2012, 03:18:45 am »
1 small banana
2 heaped dessert spoons oats
1 heaped dessert spoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
3 heaped dessert spoons plain flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon bi carb
1 egg
1/2 cup milk

Place all ingredients in thermomix bowl, mix on speed 5 for 6 or 7 seconds. Stop, scrape down, mix on speed 5 for 6 or 7 seconds again.
In terms of consistency you want the batter to be reasonably thick so perhaps hold back some of the milk and adjust the consistency when scraping down.

Leave batter to rest in a separate bowl for 10 minutes or so (don't have to) while cleaning out the thermomix.

Fry generous dessert spoons full of the batter in a frying pan over medium heat with your preferred oil/butter (ghee works really well).  Turn them over when largeish bubbles appear and there appears to be a slight skin on top.

Serve with whatever you generally like with pikelets.  Butter and golden syrup for me.

Makes approximately 10 medium sized pikelets

Interesting that you call it a thermothingy .

It's as a result of the extensive reading I have done here.

It took me a long time to accept that the only way to get a  *: was by having a demo etc.

I am in full support of the second Australian distributor suggestion.

Lamb chops and salad or veg (preferably bbq'd but it's too cold in Canberra for that at the moment)
Banana bread - from Nigella Lawson's How To Be A Domestic Goddess.

Hello everyone

I've been lurking for quite some time as my registration request would never progress. Gave up for a few months and then tried again yesterday and it worked!

I have had my thermothingy since June and am pretty impressed. This forum has been a great help to me right from when the idea of getting a thermothingy was first suggested to me, through to my first experimentation with it and now regular use.

Thank you all.
