Looks good.  There's a restaurant we go to that serves liquorice ice cream but it is a greyish black colour and I can never bring myself to eat it.    I think this one could tempt me  ;D ;D

Happy travelling CC - I am so envious of your trip and look forward to hearing all about it.   ;) ;) :-*

Mine was sorted in 2009 and I've had no problems with it since   :) :)

Funnily enough I made this from the F&E book at the weekend too and I had exactly the same problem.  I just cooked it for a bit longer until it reached the desired temperature so  I don't think your machine is faulty.

I wasn't that impressed with the Gazpacho that this recipe produced and I don't think I'll do it again.   I found another one which I think may be better, especially as this one doesn't cook the tomatoes.  I'm going to try it this weekend

Thanks so much for letting us know about it.  I managed to download it when it was still free and I really like it.  Haven't cooked anything from it yet but I think it is very well designed.

As an AGA owner (and I love it), the things I think (off the top of the my head) you need a backup for are  grilling, wok frying, controlled temperature cooking (not that I have really missed that).

With regard to current kitchen equipment I wonder whether Janie at UK Thermomix might be helpful.  I think she has an AGA (or at least understands them really well) and is probably well up with which of the modern gizmos would be useful and which are more gimmicks.

Hope this helps and if you have any AGA related questions, do get in touch

This sounds as if it is based on the recipe in F & E.   That uses the prawn shells to make a stock which you add to the potatoes and sofrito and it is that which makes the dish so tasty.   Without the fish stock I think it wouldn't be that great.

I've just spoken to the lovely Jamie at UK Thermomix HQ.   The book is £30 (plus approx £7 shipment in the UK).  It has about 70 recipes, including quite a few cheffie recipes that have more than one component.

Apparently it is free if you host a demo in the UK

I am tempted but I think I wouldn't use it that much as I am trying to manage my food intake

Beetroot and goat's cheese risotto with a bit of horseradish.  Tastes great but does look a bit pink  ;D

Morning CC - still here.  Not leaving home until midday.  Just about to round up the cat to take her to her "cat hotel" - she seems to have a sixth sense of when we are about to do it so it is always a challenge.   Let battle commence  ;D ;D

I'm really looking forward to our trip - we will be staying with Spanish friends for most of the time and I get to go round Valencia market which is amazing.  Back on Wednesday.

Hope everyone has a jolly time while I'm away

Glad to hear that you are both feeling better DJ and CC.  It's amazing how these bugs knock the stuffing out of you.

We've got tremendous winds here this morning - quite scary, especially as we're flying off to Valencia tomorrow  :o :o

How lovely to see you back Thermomixer.   I was only thinking about you the other day when I was reading an old thread which you had commented in.

I do hope you'll be able to pop in again every now and again.   As everyone says, you were a wonderful support when I first joined the Forum and it was your enthusiasm that helped me grow to love my machine as much as I do now.

 :D :D

Morning/evening....   Thanks for all your support.  They've gone now and I'm breathing a huge sigh of relief that it's all over and our lives are back to normal.

Sorry to hear that you've got the lurgy DJ - hope you can throw it off quickly and you don't infect DH.  You must be quite a way ahead of us as our cherry blossom is nowhere near being out.   Hopefully it will burst into action overnight  :D
