Uni, we should swap husbands for a week (or maybe just 1 day) - you will hardly have to cook and I could have fun making big meals  :D :D

I don't have the photo but the other day I made some fruit buns which I accidentally over cooked. My DH got one out for his morning tea the next day and looked at it with a funny look then tapped it on the bench as they were as hard as rocks. He then put it back in the container and looked around to make sure know one saw him ( as he wouldn't want to offend me lol)
I laughed when He told me as I put them aside to feed to the chooks. I had to break them up so the cooks could eat them. I don't think they would of ever been able to peck through the hard crust without my help.

Dede,

For future reference, when you have any bread product with that problem,  heat your oven to  200° C.,  run cold water all over the outside of the bread or rolls (buns)  and put them straight into the oven directly on the rack for 5 to 7 minutes for rolls.  Whole loaves of hard-crusted baguettes, etc., will take 12 to 15 minutes.

Try it.  I'm sure you will be surprised.  This is an old baker's trick for refreshing  day-old bread  for folks who show up early in the morning for the half-price stuff from the day prior.

I have made many boo boos, too many to mention  ;D

I must say that this little read has made me feel more comfortable with my cooking skills.

The husband swapping, now thats an interesting idea. Some days I feel llike putting an ad in the local paper: "Husband - Free To Good (or bad) Home" But then who would clean windows  ;)
Exercise is a dirty word... Every time I hear it, I wash my mouth out with chocolate
