Introduce Yourself
« on: January 02, 2012, 11:44:27 pm »
HI
I brought my thermomix about six months ago. Struggled through using the EDC recipe book, and just about gave up using my thermomix. Started adapting my own recipes and had a lot more success. Onlt just found your forum and I love it more than the official site. Much more accessible, and I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who had problems with my machine initially. Glad I stuck with it now. Can't wait to try some of the recipes on the forum.
Thanks :)

Hi Wheels!  Welcome to the forum - it's about the only reference you'll need with your TMX! The moderators are amazing as arethe members - all willing to lend a helping hand.  The amount of information, reviews, feedback and advice is simply incredible :)  (The only drawback is that it's somewhat addictive!! :-)) :-)) )  Good luck and enjoy your TMX - play around with it and don't be afraid to experiment - but you probably know that though seeing you've already adapting your own recipes - wow!!  I'm still learning that end of it!

Hi and welcome wheels. I'm so glad you find the forum helpful. We have lots to share apart from our love of the TMX.

I was looking on Gumtree the other day and saw 3 Thermomixes for sale. I couldn't help but wonder if they had used the forum at all.

Hi Wheels, welcome to the forum to a born again TMX user.  I too was not inspired by the EDC but I was lucky enough to find this forum a couple of months after buying my machine and I have not looked back since.  The help I received as a newbie back then was invaluable.  Enjoy your time on here, you will love it.

Wow, thanks everyone for your welcome. I should clarify I've modified recipes for baking and pizza doughs, but not meals yet. I missed my varoma demo (didn't have anyone who wanted to come), so all my meal recipes are straight from cooking classes. I'm looking forward to trying some of these tried and tested recipes on the forum. Thanks again

Let us know what you think of them wheels. If you are interested an excellent little 'booklet' to buy is Tenina's Dinner Spinner. I've made almost everything in it and they are really lovely.

Thanks Cookie1! I'll give it a go. I agree with your earlier comment also about the thermomixes on Gumtree. I found the recipes on the official website slow and laborious to search through. However the recipes here are very easy to access, and the discussions about them are just as useful. ;D
