Made this tonight and it was divine

My chicken wasn't cooked after 10 mins so cooked it for an additional 5.

Hi

I did the RPA elim diet and am now mostly failsafe (with some mods) for the sake of my breastfed dd who has numerous intolerances

I hink that Friendly Food is more helpful than Dengate books when it comes to working out how to feed the family

It is 6 months today since I started.

While my daughter still struggles, particularly with weight gain, she is so very much happier than she was before i went on the elimination diet

i would love, love, love if there was somewhere safe i cd eat out - i think that is the hardest thing for me - no takeaway, no eating out. No getting caught at the shops and just grabbing X, Y or Z....

Chit Chat / Re: What made you buy your Thermomix?

A friend in Adelaide suggested it to me because of my daughter's food intolerances and the huge amount of cooking I was doing to cater for her.

We were visiting and she had her demonstrator friend come and do a demo for my husband and I. We were captivated from the beginning

e had an old food processor that needed replacing, no juicer or anything else and had spent the previous 4 months trying to make everything from scratch with no gadgets

The TM has made life so much easier.

I've been away for 10 days and it is so nice to be home with our TM

sorry I didn't see teh questions and pear juice.

Pear Juice in failsafe recipes is made my blending a can of pear in syrup (ie belnd the pear and the syrp) you then get a thick saucey consistency.

I would probably substitute apple sauce for it.

It is very mild flavoured compared to risottos with parmesan, mushroom,s un-dried tomatoes, etc, BUT for us at the moment it is heaven :)

hubby and I did them together - took about an hour I'd say - not too long, this year. We've had some birthday cakes which have taken hours and hours :)

Welcome!

I don't think we're up to a month yet but the only days ours hasn't been used has been teh days we were in Perth earluer this month (and I missed it like crazy)

We love camping and my TM has made me dread cmaping bceause of the thought of going without it :)

It really does make cooking so much easier - we use ours at least twice every day - I really can't imagine it gathering dust because it is just so simple and so easy.

These are great though mine needed 30 minutes to cook.

I have a photo on my blog which I'll post here as soon as I can work out how to post photos.

Bron,

This looks lovely and maybe this is how apple crumble is supposed to be made... I made up my own last week - have posted here: http://failsafethermomix.blogspot.com/2009/05/apple-crumble-dairy-free-failsafe.html

I love the idea of the peel - but that will need to wait until I finish breastfeeding.

I see you didn't pre-cook the apples in teh varoma or anything - were they soft after 30 mins in the oven?

Here's a photo of mine:

mmm - photo not working and i can't find the thread on how to post photos... can anyone point me to Thermoixer's post on how to do it?

this sounds great - i can't do a lot of the ingredients but I can do enough to probably do something. I'll post back once i've tried.

I completely agree on the peas and was just saying the same thing to hubby tonight
