Varoma
« on: July 03, 2009, 01:03:13 pm »
Does anyone know if the varoma made for TM21 is the same as the TM31 model? I found some stainless steel ones on EBay(TM21) but the lady speaks french and won't answer any of my questions. I just wondered if it would fit the TM31.???

Don't think they are transferable - don't Varomas come with the units nowadays?  Someone like CarolineW may be able to help.

The old metal ones for the TM31 drip all over the place and make a mess.

Nay-nay the reason she might not be answering your questions is that they are away until the 20th July. When you have a store on ebay you can leave your items on sale but put your store in holiday mode and it comes up with the yellow bar at the top of the description.

This is what the description comes out as when you put it into google translate....

Vive the kitchen with steam várom!

BOOK WITH MORE THAN 100 RECIPES ON CD COLOR PRINTER

The várom for cooking steam and natural practice.

What is várom?

Várom The name is a contraction of the words and Aroma Steam. Thanks to várom the natural flavor of food is preserved and even strengthened.

The principle of steam:

Cooking with steam is the most modern and most healthy cooking, cooking, laundering, sterilization, heat and defrost. Water is brought to a boil in the Thermomix bowl so that water vapor is formed. Steam is hotter than the heated water.
The steam expands in the container and the envelope of all the shares in the preparation várom.
An exchange of vapor takes place, triggering the process of cooking.

The benefits of steam cooking:

The food is not in direct contact with water, their properties remain intact.
The important vitamins, especially those that are eliminated in the water such as vitamins C and B1 and provitamin A as the minerals are stored in food. The same goes for the taste and aroma. Less salt is needed to season, which is also better for your health.
Finally, thanks to its preparation without fat in the várom, food cooked in steam are lighter.

The tips and more:
Natural colors of the dishes do not défraichie with Steaming and never overcooked or mushy reduced. food out of várom have always looks fresh and appetizing. Steaming is also recommended to thaw and reheat food, this food n'asséchant not like microwaves.

Finally, did you know?
If you add a little wine, vinegar or spices (bay leaves, ginger or cinnamon, for example) in the water bowl, this will give a very fragrant steam and additional flavor to your dish in the várom.
The bowl of broth after cooking with steam is an ideal base for a sauce.

Várom IS THE BOOK WITH PRINTABLE RECIPES ON CD

It looks good, I would imagine  that you would get everything in the picture(it doesn't say much about the varoma in the description) as well as maybe a cd of over 100 recipes (probably in French!!) Their feedback is ok  - a few negatives

I would wait until after the 20th to see if they reply to your questions. As they are away even if you purchase one now it isn't going to get sent until after the 20th.

Hope this helps  :)

Yes - I got my varoma with my TMX but I thought I'd see if there was any Stainless steel ones out there. Messy are they?

Might be better to ask your consultant if she knows of anybody - maybe even consultants in Perth, who have done a Varoma demo and sold a "new" plastic one to a client who doesn't want the metal one.

My metal one has been used to make bits for the new one, otherwise I'd gladly give it to you.

Nay-nay I just had a thought - good ones happen from time to time lol ! It would be worth asking your consultant how much it would cost to purchase another varoma (I think you can buy them as spare parts but don't quote me on this  :-\) My thought was that if you purchase the TM21 and pay for postage it could work out pretty expensive. Some consultants here might be able to answer for you whether it can be done or not :D Would be worth checking I think as international postage can be pretty steep.

Bugger!  Why is mine plastic?  I would have much preferred stainless steel.  When did they go to plastic?   :-[

why not see if you can swap?

by the way, it's not fully stainless steel, only in the base of the base if that makes sense
