This one probably not the texture of the ones you leave to set into log and cut this one more like jam.. But I do have a recipe for the log fig paste so I will post that too!

Thought I might make this soon - love anything with crackers and cheese. Also would be great in Christmas gifts. Can anyone tell me if I could just use normal sugar - I know I had trouble finding jam sugar last time I needed it. Also interested in amount of sugar required.
You haven't failed at anything until you stop trying.

Hi MF
I would just put in one bag of the jam setting sugar which is 500 g.  Hope you like it.

]Hi Deniser,
I had to go to a couple of shops until  I could get the jam setting sugar, you can also use normal sugar and add some jam setta, I know there are others who make jam with normal sugar only but I am not a very experienced cook at all.
The recipe stated 600 g of sugar but I would reduce next time.

After such success with both the quince and apple & pear paste I'm eager to try different combinations. Do you think i could use fresh figs and cook for longer to give a much firmer texture? While I like the idea of the walnuts I'm not sure they would work in a firmer paste.

Hi there, we have a fig tree so will be using fresh figs for this recipe. How many would I use instead of dry? Thanks
