What have you been doing today?

Home made bread is so much better than the alternative.
DD and I had coffee. I bought a latch loop kit from K Mart. My Nanna used to do these and so did her daughter. I have very fond memories of the mats they made. I don’t know how it will go but it was only $17 so worth a try.

Oops. It’s a Latch Hook kit.

My girls made a couple when they were young cookie. You’ll have to post a picture of the finished rug.

Interesting Cookie, have fun. I’ve made these many many years ago.
DS came yesterday. Always does lots of little jobs for me. Fixed printer, washed car, mowed lawns. He is just back from skiing in Japan so I made him Pork Katsu for lunch.

DD and I had fun making one of those rugs when she was young.  I've no idea what ever happened to it.

During the weekend DS took a big bag of tomatoes and two jars of chutney to a friend and exchanged them for a big bag of onions and two different types of potatoes.  A good trade but now I have lots of onions to cut up.  No doubt I will be crying by the time I finish cutting them up.

It was a public holiday here today so I had a sleep in. Did the ironing and just pottered around.

That was a good trade, Margaret, I sympathise with the tears, though.

Had my CT scan yesterday and will not hear for another week or so what the results are and what the next step will be.

It is our public holiday next Monday, won't make any difference to me as it is my regular day off.

I’ve been reading many of Nigel Slaters recipes. Wish I had more time to cook and more people to feed. Those with too many toms ( I’m looking at you Mab ), might like the Tomato and mango chutney.
Yesterday I visited our neighbours at Invermay. We swapped preserves and I came home with apples to make jelly and fruit vinegar. They also gave me a large Chinese Lantern bush in a pot.

Marina I hope you sort your poor foot out.

Our reticulation threw a wobbly this morning. It's 20 years since we built this house and everything is giving up. Hopefully we can get someone to sort it soon. It's all in the controller and DH doesn't know much about those.
Our air con has been a boon. It was extremely humid over the weekend so we turned off the evaporative and used the wall unit ones exclusively. So nice.

This morning we went out to coffee with our mixed car group.
It is always lovely. Book club tonight.

A beautiful weekend with all four of us at my nieces wedding . Wow it was spectacular . Always a few dramas but DS train from Wagga Wagga was an hour late !DD had the day at work then went back into city to pick him up . The next day was the wedding and let’s just say the young know how to party . There was a breakfast the next day too . DH and I did 5 hours of driving on Sunday . Then Monday I had to have my car serviced . Yes the battery was faulty so new one as well . Today was yoga and I thought yah relaxing … well if you call hanging upside down ( on ropes up the wall) like a bat is relaxing .. it kind of was . Spent time sorting a bit of mess to put a new tv in our bedroom!! This may have been a bad idea as DS always helps and he is not here .

I’m trying to live out of my freezer and garden. My small garden is producing well. Cherry toms, silverbeet, lettuce, herbs of every variety. Soon to be ready, radishes , spinach, Bok Choi, and green beans. All in raised beds and pots.

I've given up hoping for cooler days. We were supposed to get rain over the weekend. barely got 1mm. Just enough to make it very humid.
I did some housework this morning.
