Lovely photo Gert and I am sure that our hotel room looked onto the RSL club on the corner from memory.
Great value lunch and a glass of To wash it down.  :)

Yes MF they have revamped the RSL it has coffee shop right outside and lovely open area to the breeze. Opens at 0700 for breakfast now. Delightful.

Just a snap from my mini iPad . They have upgraded the RSL in Cairns opening the entire front to the street to catch the sea breeze and have even added an inside outside sitting on the street cafe so you do not even have to enter the club to have a light meal. Plus they are open for breakfast 7 days a week from 0700. Very nice renos and most unusual for an RSL.. I was so impressed I renewed my membership which I let lapse because it was a dark and dingy place before. Very modern now. The food is pretty typical but not bad for the price and the wine list is quite sophisticated for Cairns and an RSL. At the very least it is not a tourist rip off which is the usual in Cairns where restaurants  to not cater for locals and return visits by tourists are highly unlikely as there will be another mug along in a minute.
