Beetroot salad (Failsafe modified):

Ingredients:
1 raw beetroot
2 carrots
1/3 leek
1 golden delicious apple
1 stick celery
parsley (I only had a miniscule amount)
2 T canola oil
2 T water
1/2 t citric acid
celtic sea salt

Preparation:
As per TM instructions.

Place all veg in TM bowl and chop on speed 5 for 3 seconds. scrape sides, add dressing ingredients and chop speed 5, 3 seconds.

Tips/Hints:
This is a modification of the recipe on p 39 of the TM Everyday cooking book.
My lovely TM consultant actually modified all the recipes at my demo so I could eat them - this is one she did and I have further modified.

ralo, i think i need to talk to you! i am having food issues atm which i am trying to identify - have been gluten free after testing neg for coeliac disease but it's not helping, so am going dairy free as of tomorrow. someone suggested fructose malabsorption which seems a possibility given that golden delicious apples are the only apples i can eat along with other stuff i can't remember lol.

i forgot to write the second part of my post LOL what are the issues for you? why are golden delicious apples better than others?

Thanks ralo, not being a Failsafe and not having the original recipe, what was modified?  What had salicylates in them.

I switched the granny smith for a golden delicious (less salycilates)
Used parsley instead of coriander (same reason)
Water & citric acid instead of lemon juice
added leek instead of red onion (salycilates again)
added celery

I tried this recipe tonight - thank you for posting it!  Can I just check the details - was it supposed to be a whole red onion?  It seemed very 'oniony'!!
Thanks!!

It really impressed my husband - who has been getting rather cheesed off with the quantity of weight increasing (!!) items issuing forth from the TM.

Thx again!
