This  looks lovely. I would use it during the summer months in sandwiches-no cooking!

Is this like the old Pecks Paste we used to have on our sandwiches as kids Chookie?

yes Judydawn, but a bit more grown up.    This recipe is from MIL. who used to make it for country functions when the ladies were catering.    DH thinks I may have put too much tomato sauce,  but I 'm not sure.    Very easy to make in the T.M.   You can do other things while it is cooking.

Thanks Chookie - the things that we have forgotten about from our youth.  Great work.  :-* :-* :-* :-*

I like the look of this. I always need meat for sandwiches for DH's packed lunch.

We used to adore a product called Pepper Steak spread made by Masterfoods. They stopped making it some time ago and I'd love to replicate it.

MJ,  you could try adding a bit more black pepper to this to see how it matches up.

I'll give it a go and let you know! I guess it's basically potted meat spread, but made so much easier by using the Thermie.
