Good to see Ral clowning around Chookie.  Great Easter cooking there.
I’ve made mashed cauliflower for the freezer with a $2 cauli I picked up and a pavlova to take to my host at tomorrow’s Good Friday lunch.

Your menu sounds lovely Marina. I love the Hot Cross Buns Chookie but I really like the picture of Ral and GD.

Chookie that’s the best Happy Easter photo , so Happy Easter to Ral and you .
Our DD made two chocolate cakes the first burnt the seconded was cooked with the roast dinner . Cake for our towns fish and chip lunch for royal children’s hospital. They make about 350 lunches ! Everyone brings a salad and or dessert . We are doing a quick bite of lunch then to DM at the beach for Easter . Hard as DH has to stay to feed sheep ( he may need so quiet time out I would say too ) .

A nice loaf Chookie.

I totally agree, the bread looks delicious.
I made some more Hot Cross Buns this morning. I decided to replace some of the fruit with apple. I bl;itzed up a couple of apples and added it with the sultanas. It made the dough very soft but it was ok to work with. I have snuck one already and I'm not that impressed. Maybe I chopped the apple too much, but I prefer the taste of the fruit. I also put them in a 23cm square tin instead of a lamington tray. They are very high.
For the next batch I will go back to Chookie's original recipe. They will be plain fruit buns then.

Love the look of the buns, Cookie and Mab.  I think I over spiced one lot.
Will cook the Trout that GD caught.

I asked in another post if you cooked the trout Chookie. I see you did. I'm sure it was delicious.
I realised at lunch time that we only had two slices of bread left, one Classic and one SD. I have made Chookie's No Fuss into a loaf of bread and that will do until I make some more. It makes a lovely loaf and is so quick.

Gosh we forget all the great recipes in our books or on this forum don’t we?  I found I’d made this recipe once, I’ll need to do it again after reading all the positive reviews as I can’t remember doing the recipe.  Thanks for bumping it Denise.
