Blimey Chookie wonderful looking Pasty are you sure you don't have Cornish blood running through your veins :D :D :D
A traditional Cornish Pasty has beef skirt, potato, swede and onion. The potato and swede are chipped/flaked into pieces. All the filling is raw when placed in the pastry.I have to confess I'm not a good pasty maker but my "crimping" of the pastry to contain all the filling is very good ;)

Hi,  CC,  LOVE your new avatar.  He is so beautiful.
My grandmother came from York.  She was a wonderful cook.  This was probably her recipe originally.  The microwaving of the veggies is my idea as it cuts down the baking time.

Fruity,  I wouldn't  think of using left overs or bit of old veggies.  I know it seems strange,  but pastie is an event,  much like a roast.6 of us ate this one,  however there really was enough for 8.  What piggies!!!!!

Hi chookie thanks,
Is there a non microwave way to do this?
I try not to microwave if possible and it may toughen our good meat.

Have only made with raw ingredients before as CC says.
Got a little sour cream left and want to try this, maybe just cut smaller and cook from raw as usual?

Thanks DJ

This looks wonderful. I usually make individual ones, but will try this next time.

I've just eaten DJ but I could still fit some of this in.
