Seeing as I don't grow broad beans Cecilia, not an option for me unfortunately.  Love the frozen variety and have never even tasted fresh ones.  Dad used to grow them but at a time when I wouldn't even try them.  Love the taste of the beans in this soup so I imagine without them, it would taste a bit different.

Broad beans are favourites for me too, and indeed they remind me of my Dad.  Thank you for sharing your recipes.  There's nothing the matter with having two different green soups in the repertoire.
