Chit Chat / Re: EDC Cookbook, where to buy?
« on: March 12, 2013, 10:31:34 am »
Oh yes, I do have an EDC, I got it with my thermomix as well as a My way of cooking. I wasn't looking for those, I was looking for something different but when I saw the price of the EDC I simply wondered why? I actually thought you could buy it from thermomix for around that $39 mark like the other books but apparently not? People are crazy on eBay!  Was just curious as I was a bit shocked and couldn't figure out why it cost so much!

Chit Chat / EDC Cookbook, where to buy?

So I was looking on eBay to perhaps pick up some 2nd hand thermomix cookbooks and I see the EDC sooo expensive, there is one with bidding currently up to $81!!! Why is it so expensive? Can't you buy it direct from thermomix or can you only get it with a demo?

Questions? Technical Issues? The Survival Guide / something wrong?
« on: December 22, 2012, 12:23:37 am »
I have been making the ketchup recipe from the my way of cooking and it just working the way it used to and I am not sure why. my blades are chopping but it seems like when it comes to the pureeing they just don't seem to make everything as smooth as it used to. The ketchup has peppercorns, bay leaf etc in it. after the 1 minute on speed 10 it still has the whole peppercorns in it and chunks of bay leaf stems, and even tomato seeds can be seen. why isn't it pureeing anymore? I looked at it when empty the the blades are moving when on speed 10. and it chops fine as normal at the lower speeds. What is wrong? >:(

thanks so much!

I think I need practice using the search function. I did try but got pages and pages of threads with recipes that have rice milk as an ingredient but no recipe for rice milk itself! ???

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere, I can't find it through a search.

How do I make rice milk? I assume I mill the rice and add water? I can't find a recipe anywhere, can someone please post instructions? Thanks

Bread / Re: bread mat in gas oven?
« on: September 14, 2011, 06:38:34 am »
Thanks Hally,

it is how my demo lady told me to use it. Wrapping the dough to help with rising and then using as a mat on top of a tray to bake on. Yes, it is an expensive mat but if I used it for just one or the other I wouldn't bother I don't think. Leaving the bread in a bowl with a teatowel over it seems to do a good job rising...I hate baking on metal tray, we usually use silicon here but I don't have a silicon mat, just a loaf shaped one. So I got the thermo mat for baking baking rolls etc. My demo lady spoke as though this is exactly what it is for? Is it not?

Bread / bread mat in gas oven?
« on: September 14, 2011, 05:02:40 am »
I bought the bread mat when I bought my thermomix. Now I am making bread today and read the lable on my bread mat and it says not to use in gas ovens! I have a gas oven!! My demo lady used her mat in my gas oven! What do I do? Use it or return it? Does anyone else use the bread mat in a gas oven? Thx

"red pepper" and "green bell pepper". Are these just red and green capsicums? Gosh I feel like a doofus....

I know that any colour pepper mentioned is the same as a capsicum but I am puzzled on what a doofus is!!  :-\Sounds like a duster on a stick  ;D ;D

lol...definition of a doofus : Stupid person or Someone who hasn't got a clue!

I get confused with the word  "pepper" as I have neighbours who grow all kinds of chilli peppers, and yes I know they are related to the capsicum but not really "chillis" as I know them;)

My Thermomix is arriving on Thursday! Yay! But I need help. I want to do a shop so I can start cooking straight away. What are your essential, bare-bones, pantry essentials? I have been told my way of shopping will be forever changed?

Obviously there will be differences from person to person, but I am just looking for ideas as I have no idea!

So can you tell me what is in your pantry please? Thanks!

HI Janem, I am South Coast NSW too, there are not many of us down this way and consultants are scarce as :(, enjoy your new TM.

Hi, there are a few more of us now, 3 from my demo bought and another one is thinking of it. And I already know 2 others in my town with one as well. Not sure if any of them are on this forum yet. Hello if you are! And yes, you are right there is only 1 consultant here that I know of who does from Syd to BB apparently! I am from Nowra:)
