Icing for childs cake
« on: November 06, 2013, 02:16:51 am »
I am looking for the best icing to use on a dinosaur cake for a 3yr olds birthday. I haven't decorated this type of cake before so don't want anything too complicated. There are so many beautifully decorated cakes on this forum so hope someone can put me in the right direction. Many thanks.

I'd use the Creamy Vanilla frosting via ILB. You will find the recipe in Cakes. I love this icing and find it easy to use. It can be coloured however you wish.
May all dairy items in your fridge be of questionable vintage.

I used the creamy vanilla frosting cookie mentioned on my sons birthday cake last weekend. It's superb and not too sweet.

Thank you so much Cookie1 and Kimmyh; I think my daughter will like this recipe much better than me just mixing up a couple of bags of icing sugar as she is really health conscious. I really appreciate the help this Forum gives to even the simplest request like this. I wish I could decorate the cakes like some on this forum. Many thanks.

Made the frosting today and it was every bit as good and even better than any I have had before. Thanks for putting me in the right direction to find it.
