Title: I'm waiting ....
Post by: astarra on August 17, 2011, 04:31:55 am
... for my Thermomix to arrive!!!!!!!!  ;D.
Hello all, I'd just like to introduce myself ... my name is Kay, I live on the beautiful island of Tasmania with my DH and our 3 daughters. I have ordered my TM31, now waiting (impatiently) for it to arrive!!  And how lucky am I ... my DH said I could get one but he wasn't that buzzed (he hasn't seen a demo!!) but when I ordered one he came and gave my nearly 1/2 the money as a gift {said it was just cuz he loves me. ;)} I was so surprised, not expecting anything toward it and then that  :o!
Oh I can't wait for it to arrive!!!!!!!!!

Hi Kay, welcome to the forum.  Glad to see DH has a share in the machine, maybe he intends using it too  ;) ;)
Have fun on the forum whilst you are waiting for your delivery - you can be all stocked up and ready to go with some chosen recipes. This (http://www.forumthermomix.com/index.php?topic=6470.0) list of CP's favourite recipes is worth having a look at.

Welcome Kay - the waiting is the really hard part! I have had mine for just over a week and I am somewhat obsessed with it  ;D ;D I am already planning all the Christmas presents I am going to make using it...

I went to a Back to Basics Cooking Demo on Monday night (which was really good) and came home with 3 new cookbooks and I want to try nearly everything in them!

Happy reading on the forum - there is so much amazing info on here, just don't try reading it all at once, you might feel a little overwhelmed (as I have found out  :-)) )

Dede - I'm in Deloraine, and absolutely LOVE it here! Perth seems nice too, have driven through it a few times! (&I DO have the best DH!!!  :-*  :-*  :-*!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
'Thank you all again!
Will be trying to decide what to cook first ...

Hi and welcome.  I'm sure you've read this before on the forum, but once you have decided on the first couple of recipes you are going to make, double check that you have everything in your cupboards just waiting to be used on the big day so that you can get stuck in straightaway and not suddenly find that you are missing that one vital ingredient.

Ain't that the truth! I wanted to make the Tomato & Lentil Dahl from the EDC on day 3 of ownership and found I only had green lentils and didn't want to risk mucking it up by swapping out an ingredient!

The waiting is the worst part.  Me too. I could burst.  Some kind members of the forum suggest I plan meals ahead for when it arrives.  Then I get too excited and confused and too hard.  I just need that box to arrive through my door.  Good luck with the waiting, it is really tough.

Hi,

Its great to read stories that sound just like mine!
I'm also in Tas, just up the road from you in Westbury.  There seems to be lots of people in our area, there are 4 people that I know of with a tmx just in my small town.  We are always talking recipes or bragging about our cooking at school pickup time.

Oh so sorry - I'm slack at forum now I've been busy cooking!!! I love love love my TM!! I think I might almost be becoming obsessed with it - I eat, sleep, dream, LIVE thermomix! But is so quick and easy. At our early learning centre we have started recipe swaps, a few of us have TMs so we swap our favourites there! :D :D! Ummmmmmm as to what i've been making ... does pretty much everything answer??! I myself am not a sweet tooth, but DD2, DD3 and most of all DH are very much enjoying their sweet treats! And can u believe I'd NEVER made a cheesecake before TM, now I'm whipping them up in minutes! DD3 (9 months) is eating the widest range of foods - all homemade:  So far the biggest hits with the girls have been mushroom rissotto (EDC) with diced chicken and pumpkin in it, chick pea soup (varoma demo card recipe) Baf's award winning recipe & ... oh ... so far everything I've made them has been gobbled up - surprising what they'll eat when it's made with fresh tasty ingredents!!!!!   ...   OK, I'm raving - again - I get like that when I start talking TM! ;).

Hey has your hubby had a turn yet? At my demo my hubby made the lemon custard, he was so funny but it tasted great, I left him in charge of mashed potato the other day and it worked out fine :P
Enjoy your new friend  :D

Welcome to a fellow Tasmanian.  I am very excited for you.  Please post again to keep us updated on what you have tried.  Lemon custard is a great favourite of ours - along with orange custard, chocolate custard, vanilla custard, pomegranate custard ...
