American Quick Loaf (Date and walnut loaf)

Ingredients
1 cup chopped dates
1 tsp bicarb
1 Cup Boiling water
120 g Chopped walnuts
50 g Butter
120 g Brown sugar
1 egg
240 g Self raising flour

Directions
Preheat oven to 180, grease and line loaf tin
Place dates in a bowl, sprinkle with bicarb and pour over boiling water. Sit aside
Add butter and brown sugar to TM and mix 30 seconds speed 3
Add egg and mix 10 seconds speed 3
Add date mixture, walnuts and flour, mix 10 seconds speed 3, mix a little more with spatula to make sure ingredients are incorporated.
Pour into prepared tin, bake 45 - 50 minutes.

This sounds very nice. Dates and walnuts are a good combination.

 Made this a few days ago. Its really nice especially as it gets older. It actually made it to three days.

DH requested a nut loaf today so made this one.  Very nice and quick and easy to make.
